2015 Louisiana Indoor Air Rifle Silhouette Regional
This is our first tournament to host, so please bear with us as we find our footing. This tournament idea was spoken to us and we thought it was a great idea so we're doing what we can to make this the best of its kind. We are ecstatic to be a part of being able to allow this sport to flourish and offer a venue that isn't readily available to some. It's exciting to imagine some of the scores that might be produced from an Indoor Air Rifle match. This match will be a great warm up leading into National Tournament as well.
The match will be oriented in our range from the center so shooters will be firing in both directions with a milling area in the center. This allowed the best logistics for the match as well as the most shooters per relay. At this time, there will be 8 shooters per relay with 4 shooting in both directions. I say this only because the pictures on the website show the range oriented as is usually is, one direction for up to a 130 yard shot.
Any and all suggestions are welcome so please do not hesitate to provide feedback. We don't want this to be a one time thing and would like to host smallbore tournaments in the future at some time too. There are images of the range at http://www.teamhatchshootingfacility.com. For those that do not attend the match, I will be providing real time results on that site.
On January 31st & February 1, 2015, the 2015 Louisiana Indoor Air Rifle Silhouette Regional will be hosted at Team Hatch Shooting Facility in Jonesboro, LA.
A two day tournament (NRA Registered event) with an 80 shot match for each rifle. Target and Open will Saturday January 31 with Sporter on Sunday February 1. Practice will be available Friday evening January 30, 2015. Resettable targets will be utilized for this tournament. Lunch will be served on Saturday and Sunday.
Entry fees will be $25 for the first rifle, $25 for the second, & $15 for the third rifle. Awards will be given for each classification.
Registration can be sent to:
Danny Hatch
365 Swanner Watts rd
Jonesboro, LA 71251
Please see the attached file for the registration form.
The range sort of remotely located, but it is central to Little Rock to Baton Rouge and Dallas to Jackson. Just south of I-20. ~30 miles from Ruston, LA & ~37 miles from West Monroe, LA.
429 Swanner Watts rd, Jonesboro, LA 71251

For lodging, I believe that the Jimmie Davis State Park is probably the best option. It's located very near the range (5-8 miles) and is on Caney Lake. The park offers a variety of lodging options (Deluxe Cabins $120/night, Deluxe Lodges $160/night, and Traditional Camp sites.)

It's not just me for sure. dhatch is putting in many hours getting the range ready for this. We've had some upgrade ideas rolling around for a while and now we have more motivation to finish them. That and we have to adapt the range to this different shooter orientation. There are some shortcuts that could make this much easier, specifically lighting, but I want everything to look as clean as the venue will allow as well as be permanent so that future matches will be a flick of a switch.Dee wrote:Hats off to you Doodaddy! A nice INDOOR air rifle match! Now we're talkin! Thanks for taking this on and I hope to be there for sure. May it be the first of many. Any perhaps some indoor SB one day

Smallbore is definitely on the agenda, though the shooters per relay will effectively be cut in half. It will be a blast nonetheless. I'd love to have a group of shooters there.
Nope. Not for you. There will be a fan blowing on just your lanes.dustinflint wrote:Can't wait!! Get those national record forms ready!!

Danny, Let me repeat what Dustin said. Better get a tall stack of 10 in a row forms from the NRA Silhouette office. This form is officially known as the: NRA SILHOUETTE GRAND SLAM CLUB REPORTING FORM. Since many good shooters will be shooting indoors for the first time there will be many 10 in a rows shot. There are check-offs specifically for Indoor not just Outdoor on this form. This is going to be a great Match.

And a bunch of pins too!
Just kidding I wouldn't worry with pins unless you wanted to have some for the new shooters or young shooters. Between my local match directors and the NRA I don't seem to get 10 pins or even Grand Slam Pins even after accomplishing them.
But I would agree you will need a bunch of forms because we will all be shooting it officially for the first time. Hell we aren't even truly classified yet. Did you think of that? No one I know is classified under indoor. That would mean everyone will be competing in Master by default

Just shoot everyone in their outdoor classifications for this match and by the end of the weekend everyone will be classified in indoor.

No, records are not class-specific.
Don't worry about the NRA, run your match the way you want to and send $6.50 /shooter to the NRA and it will be happy as can be.

I couldn't imagine records being set short of perfect or near perfect scores which would inherently be Master class, but thought I would at least ask.dustinflint wrote:No, records are not class-specific.

Does anyone know when the last registered, indoor air rifle silhouette match was held and where?

So does this mean you are already bagging it with an Indoor classification Pat?
