I thought the xp100 was a rifle caliber pistol? anyone have any info....... anything< it appears to be hi quality stuff the other is a ruger m77 action with a cp Donnelly bbl in 7-08 trigger is AMAZING! any thoughts or info would be appreciated.

Re: xp100 RiFLE????
Back in the day lots of folks built good silhouette rifles using the XP100 Remington action. The general idea was to save weight with this lighter action there fore giving more latitude in barrel and stock choices for a better balanced rifle. That combined with it being a solid bottom single shot and more rigid theory. I think.
And...the 7-08 was all the rage in those days. It's still a fine silhouette round.

Re: xp100 RiFLE????
It was a rifle caliber pistol with a bolt. Thus it was also a rifle action but mounted on a pistol. Pharr I think had a loose action awhile back at a match and I almost grabbed it for the single shot loading but my custom HP rifle was already being built.
Without some good pictures it will be hard to put a estimated sale price on things if that is what you are looking for. Also since you inherited the rifles you have no way of knowing how many shots they each had on them so barrel life remaining is a unknown on the High Power rifles. Also the stock it is in will add or reduce value depending on model and popularity.
Bob might be interested in the XP since he has a few brass laying around for that caliber I think.

Re: xp100 RiFLE????
I have a xp100 action built up for a 7 TCU rifle for my wife. (100 lbs) Pretty weak on the rams and on hot days at a match, I kept the ammo box in a cooler. With a good shotgun pad, the recoil is really mild.
For an accurate rifle, I liked the 788 action. There appears to be some cancellation in the vibration pattern as they first flow back through the bolt and then forward in the barrel. if you talk to the old timers, they will tell you that the 788 outshot the 700.

Re: xp100 RiFLE????
The xp100 action is a very desirable action. the xp100 started life as a single shot pistol in 221 fireball. The guys shooting this in IHMSA used to load it so hot to take full size rams they got one firing per case. The action was later updated to be 7br, 223, etc. It was also modified from a single shot to blind magazine.
At one time, Remington started producing a rifle based on the actions seems like this was about 5 ish year ago for awhile.
You have a winner....

I have an rifle built on an XP....that action is just a short-40x. Mine is in 7-08 and has a hart barrel and a Kenyon trigger. The bolt handle was redone and a sako extractor installed. It's nice ;) they work just fine. You got yourself a nice item

Re: xp100 RiFLE????
I was under the opinion that the action was from a model 600 remington and used in the Xp. I thought it was ill-eagle to make a rifle out of a pistol. Or is it the other way around. I've shot the rifle course with my XP 7BR with iron sights (Cholla Chalange in Yuma, Az.)and usually score better than with my rifles. Steve Tapp

Steve, no it is not illegal to make a rifle out of an xp100 pistol action. This was some what popular. What I have heard two stories is if it were to be legal to convert it back to a pistol. Some of my sources say once a rifle always a rifle, other say no you can. However, remember this all depends on how it was designated when produced. Remington did make a few rifles from the start out of the xp action and these would be illegal to make a pistol with out the NFA involved.
