22LR ammo limitation
I am still somewhat dumfounded at the ammo situation. As I made my 6th visit to a gun shop for Unique or Titegroup, they had none. I strolled over to the Rimfire area for giggles. I saw that they had 711B in stock which in and of itself is amazing. No price as stores don't even bother putting prices on ammo that will sit on the self for a few hours. I grabbed a hand full (boxes not bricks) knowing they had some form of limit. When I got to the counter, I was advised there is a 100 bullet limit. Yes, that is right folks, a well respected store is limiting the customer to 100 bullets. I might add they also limit you to 500 primers too.
Is this unique to NH or is everyone struggling to get ammo, powder and primers? I drove to a large outlet in Maine and the situation is no different there. Time to shift everyone over to air rifle!

Re: 22LR ammo limitation
Its the same at the big stores here in MT. 2 box/brick limit at sportsmans outhouse..uh I mean warehouse. I'm not going to be a happy camper when my current case runs out.
I buy all my guns from t-rex. He's a small arms dealer.

Re: 22LR ammo limitation
I have found that the better places like Good shooting inc, Champions choice, ect normally have match ammo available and they have not been jacking the prices around. Cathy at Good Shooting responded to an availabilty question about a month ago with the offer of a case if you preordered ( same old price). I have had a harder time getting minimags that the good stuff. Steven

I find it strange that the everyday ammo is going for about the same price as the medium priced match ammo.

Re: 22LR ammo limitation
Cathy is GREAT to deal with and got my ammo to me in just a few short days. We have the same limitations here in Pa. Grice gunshop is our biggest and they limit .22 ammo to 150 rounds and you can only buy 300 primers per family.

We have one store that limits primers to 500 per person per day and another allows you to one brick of each type per day. Too bad they all are out of everything I need.

Re: 22LR ammo limitation
As we speak (or write) there are 40 people standing outside sportsmans warehouse waiting for it to open so they can buy their one brick of 22 ammo. Its just sad.

Yes that is sad,I hope there not paying gouger prices,I think that distributors are holding ammo back to the big chain stores and selling the rest online leaving the dealers suffering,of course they use another name for their online sales not there real buisness name,if you will look on the popular gun auction sites you will see sellers there who have and have sold unreal amounts of 22 and other ammos,no one person has the means to obtain that much nor would they have known ahead of all this"shortage" to do so.I know for a fact that distributors in other areas of the sporting goods industry are selling online under different names and to their dealers as well, just goes to show what they really think of the industry and their dealers and lastly but not least the people who pay the ridiculous prices for the ammo they sell online. If your smart DONT buy from these people.

Re: 22LR ammo limitation
The good thing is sportsmans warehouse isn't gouging. They are still charging the same prices they always have (I hear). There is another place BVAC that isn't gouging, but they are limiting how much they sell a day so there is always some stock every morning there. I hear. I'm still working through the ammo I got a reasonable porices and hoping all of this will go away after the winter resupply hits.

Re: 22LR ammo limitation
I stopped into a large local gunstore in Benton TN a week ago, just killin' time, and guess what?
Couple of shelves of CCI Mini-mag, 100 rnd boxes. Plenty of it. $40 ea. (Can that be $0.40/shot? Each shot?)
Plenty of assorted Primers. $69+/brick.
Same kind of stuff on powder (they had a good bit) and other stuff.
I think I saw the Prep-H poster boy shopping there.
Parking lot was empty at 1530 hrs on a Friday aftrnoon. Go figger.
Spooky
