Final week update

Here is the update for Memorial Day. Got to the range about 8 AM and met Jerry. The Orange Shirt crew arrived about 8:30 and proceeded to do some great work. An entire crew of Republicans and the best we have had in a while. We were able to get the tents out and placed under the firing line cover to get ready for set up on Wednesday morning. They then repainted all the backstops and stands and they look great.

Tomorrow we will have the range mowed and ready for tent set up. The range house will be spit shinned and ready for Robin and her Stat Crew. The tables will be set up under the vendor pavilion. That should keep us busy for tomorrow. Wednesday will be a fun day as we will assign two of the crew to Mary and Steiger to set up the air rifle range. We will also have the beer wagon arrive for the weekend. All the banners and other signage will be up and going. Thursday will be pretty much a rat killing day and finishing up the minor details.

I am ready for tomorrow night and Shiner Bock and tamales from Corpus and a great visit with the Slaughters. Donnie is getting the coon defrosted and will have it ready for tomorrow night!

Wednesday update is that the range looks great. Mary and Coates arrived at the butt-crack of dawn yesterday! They helped run the crew and we got the major big tents set up. Fortunately we had an entire crew of Republicans and the work has been fantastic! They even get to work in regular shirts!

We had some great tamales that the Slaughters brought in and a few nice Shiner Bock beers also courtesy of the Slaughters! Coates even had some real good ale! The only major faux paus was the Donnie forgot to thaw out and cook the coon!

Budweiser arrives today along with some more die-hard competitors. The games have begun!

Loading up the van for a morning start Thursday morning....Should arrive in Winnsboro in mid afternoon...Looking forward to seeing everyone there...Mrs Kitty and Mini Kitty are out shopping for the last bit of stuff we need for the trip.....I'm wondering why we need so much stuff to go to a two day shoot 1 state away?? How did we ever transport everything to Ridgeway for the nationals last time we drove?? How did we fly last year??...Not that it matters, but I had less stuff than this in the car when I graduated school and left home for good...man how times change.
