The Cuban Santa comes through

Post by hambone49 »

The concept here was to create a traveling rifle where I could just change triggers and barrels and bounce between classes. Right now, it is my standard rifle.. An Anschutz 2013 action dropped in a Pharr RTS stock by Evelio McDonald. I'm not sure this has been done before but E did a marvelous job, especially the bedding and converting the 4 bolt system to two action screws. Here's some pix..

That sure is one snazzy lead slingin machine ya got there Hammie. Is that your secret weapon you intend to use for sweeping up all the prizes with at the last Southern Nationals? I am about to pack up my high power rifle now that I found a RT/S stock and get Evelio to finish it up for me as well. Can't wait!

Looks cool. I saw one where the guy split a McMillan stock and added a piece to make it wide enough then bedded it. I also shot a lefty in another hunter stock once at Nationals a few years back. Chango's looks good too. I was gonna ask if you wanted me to polish your trigger guard, but I see you did that and embellished it a bit. What does it weigh now??? Merry Christmas.

Thanks guys. I used this action and barrel for years in my prone rifle so I know it shoots, although it has expensive tastes in ammo. It weighs in now at 10 lbs 2 ozs. It is a bit nose heavy but I sorta like like that, and I can always take off that silencer. I have some other barrels, including 2 Liljas fitted for the Uptagrafft bloop tuner. Hey Dee, I might make Winnie if I can get Huey to lug my crap. But I ain't rooming with him anymore...The only prize I might win if I'm lucky would be another orange shirt..

Good luck with that idea! I don't have a cap on my truck, I gotta fit everything in the cab.

What do you mean when you say "change triggers"? Are you just meaning that you will increase/decrease triggerpull weight?

sweet setup!

Change the 5018 to a 5022 (2lb) trigger. I was also going to have E trim me down a barrel to make weight for hunter. In practicality, doing this switching during a match would be a bit daunting (I'm lazy) and then to get sighted in. Plus I already have a pretty good Hunter rifle. I just need to find a big knucklehead to carry them.

Hambone,

That little plastic piece attached to your scope that flips out and covers your left eye - what is it called and where can I get one??

BTW, beautiful rifle - although you'll likely win more national championships with it than the Miami football team will :ymdevil: GO TIGERS!!

I read this, it was posted on Hambones RFC post "New Toy" Anyone have any information?

also for Christmas the USA has now got the assets of Robertson Composites Inc. to look forward to,
a shooting couple bought the assets and they are currently on a truck bound for the USA and will be made in the spring but it will be summer at least before the process is perfected and the silly wet stocks will be available,

I am thinking (after talking with the new owner more than once) that the makers of fine rifles ( Evelio and also Steve Boelter) will be contacted first to see if they wish to carry the stocks, why you ask, because unlike the previous owners the will not have way to many employees making far too few stocks to make a profit,
it will be summer at least, but then

USA WILL HAVE THE BEST STOCKS FOR SILLY WET AND OTHER SHOOTING DISCIPLINES THAT ARE MADE,lucky you and Canada's loss, although I know the owners and may be able to get one built myself,

Merry Christmas to all and too all a good night,

maybe I will call Steve and let him know
Jefferson (the J in JTR )

Post is not by me it is a copy of a post on RFC

Hi Dustin, we get the blinders from Coates, contact our own innocent Mary to buy them. And at least we can all agree to hate Nick Satan...
