FINNFIRE comes home tonight

Post by silhouette13 »

back in july i put a deposit on a Finnfire that was owned my a dear friend and mentor who was taken last christmas by cancer, i could not afford it, i didnt need it, BUT i did love it and wanted to keep Johns spirit and Rifle in the sport. i worked a deal to give what i could scrape up and the fine Gent handling Johns rifles dispersal said i could wait a year, he just didnt care. he had already given 12k to the family. i was offered a load to get it home.i declined.

i had a terrible late summer with a week in the hospital a mountain of bills. i really thought i would be lucky to get it before nextyears firts match but always intended to get it by thanksgiving. i recently moved and was traumatized by an extra uhaul trip so decided to thing things out, selling some stuff off put me back on track. even after paying the deductible from having an early snowstorm drop a tree on my car :(

tonight it comes home, my original idea was to pimp it with a trendy stock, i shoot this hunter pretty well stock, so will leave it as John had it. other than his old tasco scope cause it has 1/8 clicks and goes more than once around.

i feel great about it, and am glad i will have the memory's of the tough journey to keep it hitting steel. i may put the irons back on though just to make it an ultimate classic hunting rifle, the squrrils should watch out too. mmmmm brunswick stew.

Sounds like you brought home some badly needed good karma! Keep high hope for a great 2012 and enjoy what sounds like an already well loved rifle.
