More expensive to feed, but worth it.

Tikka T3

Post by ppkny »

I've got a Tikka T3 with stock rings supplied with the gun. They are very low. The distance from the top of the receiver to the centerline of the scope is about 7/8 inches. I'm looking for something higher. Anyone have any suggestion. The dovetail looks to be .645 inches or 16mm Any help would be appreciated.

I've used Weaver bases on the older Tikkas. I 'think' the T3 will accept the same. (You'll have to check. I've never used the T3 version.) Weaver #61 IIRC. From there you can go to whatever you want to use.

Alternatively, Optics Planet sells an 'EGW' Picatinny rail for the T3 that's billed as 'Tactical' (so all the range ninjas can put one on and tell everyone about how they used to be 'Special Ops'). It's $38 but you can get it with or without slope.

Nomad, Thanks for the advice. I've checked into a few options and the 16mm dovetail is a show stopper with anything readly available.
