CPT Load: 139 Hdy.SSTs or Sierra 140s and 36.0 Grs. Varget = 2500 FPS - everything hit falls.
Ram Load: Sierra 168 MKs and 40.5 grs. Varget = 2600 FPS - to date, all rams hit have fallen.

Re: 7mm-08 Loads
Funny that my stock barreled 700 SPS won't shoot Varget at all with any of the Sierra bullets.
45.0 gr of H380 behind a 130 Mk will shoot under a half minute out to turkeys. I find the 130mks like to go 2600+ for best accuracy.
For rams 36.2gr of IMR4064 behind a 168Mk is just as accurate but just a tad slow at around 2400.

Re: 7mm-08 Loads
I've been a long time reader but figured I would start contributing and thought this would be the first place. I've been shooting 7mm-08 for a couple of years now and figured I would add my loads to this list.
150MK
Lapua 308 Brass sized to 7mm-08
BR2 primer
39.1 RL15
2.805 OAL
Normally 1/2 MOA.
The next node I found was around 41.1 RL15, the rest was the same.
I've got other loads but will have to get those out when I get home. These two above are my go-to rounds.
My main rifle is a Savage Target Action Repeater,
Douglas XX 7mm-08 heavy barrel (bought used)
EGW HD Steel Rail,
Nightforce 3.5-15x, might switch to SWFA 5-20x
HS Tactical Stock
I don't compete officially, just with friends and family.
Here's a shot of the rifle. I realize its probably a little heavy compared to what is normally shown around here but it works no matter what and with no matter who.

Thanks,
Mike

Re: 7mm-08 Loads
All my barrels are made by Pac-Nor, 3-groove, 1-8" twist.
Via Oehler chronograph I've determined that 3-groove barrels are 35-50 FPS faster than my previous (and other persons') 4-, 5- or 6-groove barrels.
These are personal loads; please begin with a lighter load and work your way up.
175 gr. Sierra MK or GK
38.0 grains Varget
Rem 9-1/2 primer
Lapua (sized from .308) or Winchester brass
bullets jumped .015"
168 gr. Sierra MK
38.5 grains Varget
Rem 9-1/2 primer
Lapua (sized from .308) or Winchester brass
bullets jumped .005"
150 gr. Sierra MK
39.0 grains Varget
WLR primer
Lapua (sized from .308) or Winchester brass
bullets seated at the lands
140 gr. Sierra GK
39.5 grains Varget
Federal 210 primer
Winchester brass
bullets seated at the lands
130 gr. Sierra MK
40.0 grains Varget
WLR primer
Lapua (sized from .308) or Winchester brass
bullets seated at the lands
Respectfully,
Pat O'Malley
