Tom Greshem to speak at Ft Smith Friends of the NRA banquet
Thought I would post this as an open invitation of the Fort Smith Arkansas Friends of the NRA banquet this year. The banquet is a hoot, with door prizes and lots of stuff you can bid on and win. The monies go to support youth shooting activities. The Old Fort Gun Club at Fort Smith Arkansas is in consideration for at least three of these grants and has been the past reciepient of same.
This year's keynote speaker will be Tom Gresham. Tom is the weekly host of talk radio's "Gun Talk" and is an editor at large for Peterson Publications. He is also co-host of at least one and maybe more shows on the Outdoor Network. A local sporting goods retailer and a big supporter of our club activities, The Tackle Box, underwrites the advertising cost to bring "Gun Talk " to our local affiliate (1320 am). They have been instrumental in bringing Tom to Fort Smith for the banquet. He will "meet and greet at the Tackle Box untiil shortly before the banquet (6:00 pm on Saturday, March 17th). He will then be our guest at the banquet and the keynote speaker.
Tom's show airs on Sunday, and one of our own, 13 year old Colby Rasmussen (Tennessee state junior champion and Arkansas resident champion in Hunter class this year) will be his guest on his syndicated radio show. I'm not asking much, but I would like for everyone to call in and give a shout out to Colby on Sunday. Do a google search for "Gun Talk" or Tom Gresham" to find your local affiliate and how to call in. This is a BIG plus for our sport as Colby is a very fine young man and will represent all of Silhouette shooting well. As most of you know I am Colby's mentor and coach so I would consider it a personal favor if you would call into the show.
As for me, I will be in Benton Arkanansas that Saturday shooting in that gun club's magnificent "Spring Breakout Regional" This shoot is so good that for the past year and this one coming, even with all the hoopla surrounding the advent of my boy on a syndicated radio program, and the fact that I sponsor a corporate table each year and give the tickets away I would not miss this quality time with my friends from the Benton Gun Club.
So I guess you can shoot with me on Saturday, and help me get over it on Sunday or go to Fort Smith Arkansas and enjoy a fine banquet and on Sunday give our sport a shot in the arm. Your only two choices.
Thank you for taking the time to read this lengthy post.

Help me figure this out? The cost of a single ticket is $25. The cost of a ticket for a couple is $40. Now, if I bring 2 dates what would the cost be? Maybe it would work out better if I brought 3 dates! They would just charge me the price for 2 couples?? Hey, Wait a minuite! It's not 2 couples, it's me with 3 dates. Help me out with this, John.........

Wouldn't this fall under a family rate? Since they're cousins and all...
