Just wanted to give you guys a heads up...Leupold is releasing a new 25X straight power scope at SHOT this year. It has 1/4MOA clicks and 3/8 MOA dot. Have been told it weighs 14 OZS.... MAP pricing point is $600.

Checked Leupold web site, looks like they are going to have a 25 and 30 power silhouette scope. Glad to see them bring this out.

I'm interested in the 30x version, George. Let me know when you get a firm price and delivery date. I'd also like to know what the closest distance the scope can focus to is if it happens to show it in the specs. My biggest gripe with this Weaver T24 is that it won't focus close enough to give me a clear picture for dry fire practice in the house. I have an Elite 4200 6-24x and a Sightron 24x that will, but overall I still like the Weaver better. I'd sure love for the new Leupold to come in and do everything I need it to.

^^^^ Rgr That. Aparently Bob keeps up with things better than most of us. He sent me this info and that started the ball rolling DAYS befoe anyone else.

What I do know is this......

My dist do not even have the PN in their system yet. Leupold said 30 days before the first order ships to the origional buyer.

I will be meeting with the Leupold folks at SHOT to tie them down to a delivery date and pricing.

I won't be at Tacoma on Sunday, because I'm dragging the family onto a plane bound for Alabama on Saturday. Other than my parents that visited a few months ago, my whole side of the family hasn't even seen the newest kid that's over a year old now. If you happen to see Eric, tell him I still want that Golden Eagle Target ammo and don't need to test it as long as it fits into the chamber on his gun without any extra help. I just need a price.

Jason, If you want to use your T-24 indoors; tape a Leupold 50 ft. adapter on it with electrical tape. That's what I do to shoot my air rifle indoors. Al Foust

Hmm.. I hadn't thought of that. For reference in this thread will the Leupold 50ft adapter fit these new scopes? The brochure says "threaded to accept Alumina accessories." Oh man, that could be sweet. Having that 30x be lightweight and get the 50ft adapter and one of Marv's airweight mounts. That would be a TON of weight left over to use in a new barrel AND I'd be able to practice in the house.

Nevermind, answered my own question. Found the 50-ft adapter mentioned above and saw it named Alumina with a note that said "Fits post-2004 40mm objective Alumina scopes." Sounds like I need to get one of those ordered to tape onto the T24 now and screw onto the new scope later. Thanks again!

What is the minimum focus distance of the new Leupold's? I assume it is not like the EFR model?

Did you gents get a chance to check these scopes out at SHOT? First impressions?

Well, let me say this...I did not look at this scope at shot.... I know, I know... man after chasing Duckgumbo's ass around for ~12 hours a day from the time we leave the room until the time we leave shot....ass was draging... I did meet with Leupold re: custom shop stuff... they are changing again and spliting the sheets with their custom shop. I was told all scopes are going to be "post retail", i.e. sold through jobbers, dist, then retailers to the consumer. Then the consumer deals direct with the custom shop. This is all sketchy at this point...will know more in the next cpl months...

Pricing... Have been told by people "I hope they don't plan to charge full price for these"... Leupold does pricing this way

Dealer or distrubitor selling less than their "map" = black ball.

I was told by the custom shop that the MAP on this scope is $600. My guess is that will be the pricing you will see from Midway, SWFA, Grafs, etc.

Leupold's pricing %'s are the same across the board. My guess is that this scope will cost me the same as a 6.5-20EFR as the MAP on the EFR is $600. I was told in one e-mail that they did not expect to pay much more than $400 as a consumer... I will bet you that distruibtors will pay more than that, I will pay MUCH more than that...
