10-20 MOA scope mounts?

Post by jnyork »

OK, I have googled and run a forum search to no avail.

I shoot some 200 yard .22 rimfire matches. I cant get enough elevation with my scope and I dont want mess around trying to shim the rings. Somewhere I seem to remember someone making some rings for this specific problem but all I can come up with is some VERY expensive bases for Remington 700 etc, centerfires.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Yup, these use spherical bushings to clamp the scope. Eccentric ones are available in +/- .005, .010, and .020" sets.

My Anschutz 2002 SSP air rifle has a dovetail in front of the port maybe .080" lower than the rear dovetail.

With the rings 4" apart, I was able to mount a scope (Sightron 6.6-20x42) and get a 10M setting only 4" high with the elevation screwed down tight.
This illustrates the flexibility these rings offer for unconventional mounting.

By putting a +.020" under the scope in the front ring and the -.020" insert under the scope in back (with the corresponding -.020 on top in front and +.020" in back, I got a 10M setting only one turn from bottomed out, leaving LOTS of elevation for rams ( a little over a whole revolution above my 20yd setting).

My small bore need about 19 minutes to get from 100yd to 200yd with SV ammo. I would try a +/- .020" pair in one ring. Idf that doesn't get you close enough to the bottom with your 40M setting, add a pair to the other ring.

Try this one from BKL: http://www.bkltech.com/1x4x0_6_DC_007_S ... -260d7.htm

Our Club regularily shoots 200 yard matches and this base lets me shoot with a center hold from the 40 meter chickens out to 200 meters using a Leupold 6.5x20 scope on my SAKO.

Make sure to order the Signature Zee rings, since the plain Signature rings do not use the offset bushings.

Signature = rings with the inserts, can be standard, dual dovetail, rimfire, etc

Signature Zee = rings with the inserts that fit Weaver bases

You are correct, and I am reminded to do my research instead of working from memory. It's the Weaver Zee rings that do not use inserts.

All's well with the rings, I can zero for 40 meters and still have quite a bit of "down" left, and I can go right up to 200 meters and have quite a bit of "up" left. Am now happy camper. Thanks for the info.
