trigger finger placement

Post by crsteven »

I was wondering if there is a best place to put the trigger finger or does it matter? I find it easier to pull it straight back by using the tip of my finger. Now I was doing this in bullseye pistol as well until I read that master shooters use the joint of the finger. I shoot better with the 45 with that method, but had no problem with the 22 using finger tip. Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on this subject when it comes to silhouette shooting?

Middle of the pad between the tip and the first joint...straighter more even pressure. Tip tends to produce jerking (low right impacts) and first joint will frequently cause pushing (high left impact) for right handed shotters.
