Info I see on the 1415 looks about equivalent, how does the rifle feel to you? Does it point naturally? Goes with which ever feels right, both are good actions and will shoot.

I would put the 1416 trigger above the CZ, but as to how they shoot... I bet you can find rifles from each manufacturer that will out shoot the other on any given day of the week. It is totally luck of the draw. One thing is a constant though, and that is the Anschutz adjustable trigger.

Trent, I personally have witnessed an extremly bad trigger on a brand new meister grade Annie 222, so bad that the US authorized rep took it out and threw it away in front of me, replacing it. So my opinion is triggers are something that can be fixed, replaced , repaired if needed, over all fit to a stock and balance is more important. As we are all built different, that is something you need to try. Yes stocks can be replaced and modified also, but if one fits better then go with it.

Remember that CZ has several folks building trigger bits for the 452. The trigger has an easy, well documented fix that can cost a few bucks for replacement spring on up for a drop in replacement. If you like the way the 452 feels and points, get it and then fix the trigger.

There is at least one of both in the safe....Fit and finish on the Anschutz is better, as it the trigger (at least on mine). The Anschutz leaves the impression that it was perhaps a little more well thought out. Both are good, servicable firearms and will do the job....Both feel a little small to me, but I am used to shooting a heavier, longer, more substantial gun...YMMV.

IMO either way you go you will happy. I have 2 452's and would not get rid of either. The trigger can be made to your liking for $15. But in the end you will probably want a 1712. If you get the 452 bank the extra $300 and keep adding slowly to it, before long you will have the 1712.

I love my CZ 452 American. Its a great shooting rifle. I wouldn't recommend just any CZ 452 for silhouette though. Are you looking at an American, Silhouette or Style? Those are probably your best options for silhouette.

I'm the Jim that introduced myself to you out at the range this morning. I swear you can't swing a sling without hitting a Jim out there. :)
