Mordecai's eldest takes 1st AA Std Rifle at Winnsboro!

Post by mordecai »

Couldn't be more proud or more happy for Harrison pulling down a 31 & 27 today, especially under the 'foreign' conditions! He had a good attitude and a mediocre spotter which he used to his advantage.

Saw lots of other great shooting and caught up with a few familiar faces! Pics to follow.

Congrats to you both. He shoots very well. Even with it raining cats and dogs.

I'm not home yet, but the pizza was good and I was glad to meet a few more members before leaving town.

Also, I get to add, Harrison banged out his first 10-row for Chickens and Pigs, and a 5-row for Rams at Winnsboro.
He ever attempted a long-run record for Intermediate Jr. I think he's still walking around on cloud nine. Way to go!!!

Tony,
Cathy Winstead Severin won Sunday (hunter), with a 77 as I recall. I know that Bruce Finley was 3rd with a 70, there was a 72 but I do not remember who shot that. There were four 69's, which Coates won on reverse animal count. I was in the stat office, most of Saturday and Sunday immediatley following my shooting so I did not actually hear all the awards.

I am aware of the long run attempts by Mallory Nichols (sho shot well), Coates and Harrison. All the juniors were shooting well, we ran a qualifying match Friday for several 4H shooters from south Louisana, and they all shot well.

That is some great shooting the boy did. He looked like he was having a good time with the old man at the match. Whats up with these kids shooting so well has no one told them this is supposed to be more difficult than they are making it seem?

I am convinced that spouses, children, mortgages, work and all the other daily life concerns make for a more clouded mind and thus more difficulty shooting for us well aged folks that are somewhat new to the game.

Congrats again on the great shooting.
