Thanks!
New lurker here, just wanting to say thanks for all the helpful advice you've given me today by virtue of the way you've answered the questions of others in the past.
I'm fairly new to shooting sports (about 2 years now) and looking for a way to improve my shooting ability. Most of the "serious shooters" I know are into the bench rest thing. While I'm sure it's fun, it's just not my cup of tea (once you get to a certain level of proficiency, it seems to be mostly about hand-loading your ammo). But silhouette shooting? That looks like something I can enjoy... it's the offhand thing, I think, that attracts me. So, after a little bit of googling around, I popped in with the typical newcomer questions in my head ... what rifle? what scope? what ammo? ... and got all of my questions mostly answered just by browsing the forum.

Ain't it the truth. So, thanks again for your ideas about what works and what doesn't that I've gleaned from your past postings. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting a real good head start in deciding what gear might best suit me.The thing about "just to get started" equipment is that it's the most expensive stuff you buy because you replace it almost immediately...

This is a lot more fun when you just do it because it's fun! Just avoid the trap of worrying about scores enjoy yourself.
