Thank you VERY much Mary
. Your help with Cheryl was terrific and I think its what she wanted to hear, some info and possitive reinforcement from a female to get her excited about shooting. She cant wait for me to get her a rifle now

Also, many thanks to Steve and the rest of the crew for organizing and running such a great match. It was a great weekend and we had lots of good scores shot, including a 39 from Laura Goetsch (sp?) in the second standard rifle match and another from Chad Winstead in the second hunter rifle match.

Re: 2010 Conard Cup Report
So Mike who gets that new shinny 1712 you or Harrison? Mr. Coleman was the recipiant of a brand new annie 1712 with a Wooster stock and Mr. Marvins bottem metal and trigger, at saturday nights dinner. Congratulations Mike or Harrison. By the way it looks like Shawn really liked the scope we got him. I'm glad we did that for him.
If it wasnt for Shawn I would have never gotten into silhouette shooting.

Re: 2010 Conard Cup Report
Thanx Jason... The cool thing about this MS Excel file is that you can use it to sort by score, class ,and name in alphbetical order by using the "control key".
Control O...sort by high score
Control N...sort by last name
Control K...sort by class
Now how do I know all of this? It's simple, my sweet bride made this Excel file for the 2005 Conard Cup after the most embarrasing scene I have ever witnessed at a match of this magnitude in 2004.
At least six times an award was given to someone, only to have it called back because the math done by the 2004 match director and his assistant was like 2 + 2 = minus 3. Really made Sunday's awards a joke. This was something that really was a mess and added a lot of strees to the people who were so rightfully deserving an award for their great shooting acheivement, plus it delayed them getting on their way back home by several hours. Not a good thing.
So, all of you Match Directors out there who can work their way in and out of a MS Excel file, copy this and use it. Change the file name to suit you Match, change the competitors names, delete the daily scores all accross the board, just do not delete the feilds where the final scores for the day or the final scores weekend fall, and this will automatically calculate who did what in an instant.
It may not be somthing you want to use for a one day match with perhaps 20 or so shooters, but if you are having a two day State, Regional aore a commemorative match with a lot of competitors, it's a cool thing.
And one more thing.....Eric Boos is one dang shootin' machine. Way to go Buddy! I am so proud of you!....Mr. Marv

Re: 2010 Conard Cup Report
Thanks for the terrific excel score sheet Marvin.
How are awards given at the CBC? Do you give per match, Agg per day, agg per gun over the two days and a grand aggregate? I was just wondering. I have been hearing great things about this match and will try to make it next year if schedule allows.

Re: 2010 Conard Cup Report
This year we (like the last four i've been to) had a prize table for the people. We had Leupold scopes, Kowa spotting scopes, A set of swingers donated by Mike Cassidy(who runs the IronMan) of Montana, Chris Winstead donated a mesh vest, A certificate for a Shilen and Lilja barrel, A couple cases of ammo, half cases of ammo, Sierra bullets, Binoculars, and a assortment of other goodies (including a hat: inside joke for everyone that attended), all in all a very good assortment of prizes. The Match Winner is annouced and he/she gets his pick on the table. Then 1st master gets his pick, then 1st AAA gets his pick, then 1st AA. The winner of B class gets a special trophy and a choice of whats on the table. Then 2nd master and so on down the line. I believe that AAA and AA went down to 4th palce and Master went down to 6th place. We also have trophies for highest score out of 40 (had two or three 39's)for standard and hunter class, then trophies for highest score out of 80 for standard and hunter class. The Match winner gets his name on the Conard Bernhardt trophy and gets a really nice take home trophy as well. Saturday night we have a dinner at the PeEll highschool and everybodys scorecard gets put in a box and we draw names for prizes; ammo, soft gun cases, hats, I got a certificate for 50% off anything from Redding yahoo!, loading books from sierra, sand bags and a whole assortment of goodies to many to list. After all the prizes are gone then the great one Steve Wooster
pulls some lucky SOB's name of the box for the BIG prize. This year a 1712 with a Wooster stock and bottom metal by Mr. Marvin. Last year it was a custom highpower rifle and the year before that is was a 1710 that was won by Laura "Gottcha"
. Its definatly worth the time to travel up here to the great Northwet(no i didnt forget the S) to shoot the Conard Bernhardt Cup. One of the best matches in the country.

Re: 2010 Conard Cup Report
The few times that I have attended the CB Match it has been one of the best times that I have had. The best scores that I have ever shot and great folks. They really put on a first-class match and I highly recommend it as a must attend match in a career.
Steve and his gang work hard and I personally appreciate all their effort to making this match happen each year. Did I mention the fastest target setters on the planet?

Ducky..still the fastest target setters on the planet, despite some having grown up and moved on. Weather on Sat was interesting, cold, hot sunny and raining all in one relay, all day long. Great match though, thanks to Steve, Larry, Larry, Gary, the Mobbs brothers, and many more. Also a big thanks to the party snack supplier at the end of the match Bonnie in the "which hat shall I wear this afternoon"...

Re: 2010 Conard Cup Report
Shakes, that all sound really cool but, can you tell me when I can afford to go again? If you know anyone that needs a subdivision drawn/designed, I have been available for a while. haha! It is a great match. I have attended twice. Friendly people, a beautiful area (we saw a heard of about 20 elk at the range turnoff one year), but dont forget your jacket.
It was fair enough weather most of the time but one year I was not huddled by a heater and was getting a little chilled just before my relay was called. As I was firing at the Rams, I started shivering. That makes for a bad score.
For anyone who has not gone and can, it is worth it once at least for the experience.
