Re: What kind of high rings?
Do you know if you have an 11mm or a 3/8" dovetail? I believe the Burris rings are intended for use with a 3/8" dovetail, and may not get a proper "bite" if used on an 11mm rail. That could be a potential problem which would allow the rings to move too easily.
I'll second the recommendation for BKL rings and BKL risers. They get an excellent bite on my Anschutz 1712, are strong, lightweight, and keep the scope at a nice high height while remaining within the rules.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the BKL recommendation. If I can not find a custom set that is the ones I will try next. Wish BKL made a tapered base to help with elevation issues though.
As to the dovetail, it is an 11mm one. Same as yours. The burris bases come with a special plate to make them adaptable to the european dovetail. In theory, I dont think it works well though.

They come with 2 different side pieces one for 3/8 grooved receivers and the other for Annies. Are you using the right one?SqHunter wrote:Sorry, I should be more specific.
I have used the Signitures in Redfield and Weaver type on many firearms without incident, but I am trying the "22 and Air Rifle" version for the grooved reciever. They are torgued as tight as I can turn the screw, and every time I lay the rifle down the scope gets shifted. I have used this scope on this rifle in other mounts for years without issue, so to me that means the rings are the culprit.
To be honest, they are very high and I would think that means they would be more susceptible to leverage and pressure to the side. They also are obviously generic in terms of action curvature, so they do not sit well on top of the action. Lots of space there. I purchased them to experiment with head position. I would prefer a stronger base ring combination, but so far that has not allowed enough leeway for scope position. Scopes seem to always be set as far back in the rings as possible, with the turret housing butting up agains the rear ring.
So... that is why I am looking for a different, hopefully more durable system. Wish Marv still made rings.

I am using the "other" one, the one laying in the package. The one it came assembled with didn't fit right so I assumed it was for the 3/8 rail. I can not tell that they are marked at all.

So you tried both. That's probably not it then.
I Have a set on my 1702 and they are working out so far.
Order you a set of the BKL's I really like the way they work. They are a good price also. You could get the Highs and the riser blocks like the others posted. My Dad uses them on his CZ's and loves them.
