Post by Another Dang 9 »

It depends on what primers you're looking for. I usually make the rounds on all of the online stores if I'm wanting to buy a few thousand of them. For instance, Powder Valley shows as having CCI large rifle benchrest primers in stock right now.

MidwayUSA has a feature on their website that will let you request an email when something they're out of gets back in stock. I used that feature to get Federal gold medal small rifle primers one time and the large rifle primers another time.

Other than that, I just call the local shops once a week or so. At one of them, I can get on a waiting list and pre-order things like primers so that they'll hold them for a few days when they come in to give me time to pick them up. The primer shortage was supposedly "easing up" a few months ago. I haven't seen all that much evidence of it yet, though.

Thanks I've been on a bunch of waiting list for several months now too and its getting way past my comfort zone. I usually have all my brass cleaned and primed by this time of year but its all sitting in there buckets just waiting and waiting. Its going to be an interesting year if things don't change soon. I also just found a guy who has a bunch of 125gr. 357 bullets in Fla. they'er made by Zero bullets out of Alabama. Haven't shot those before but they look good.
