Thank you Mary, conditions were not too bad in first match but it got windy on the second both days.

Steve, there is not much going on right now and our local matches are pretty small. Our next big match is the HP State at the end of August in Coalinga. I live in Southern CA and go to West End on the first Sunday of the month to shoot HP and SB (check their web site for match information. http://www.wegc.org/forum/index.php?action=calendar

I also go to LASC near Sylmar and shoot rifles there but mostly people shoot silhouettes with handguns. They will have a shooting extravaganza the first weekend in September which is a great match to attend. http://www.lasc.us/

If you are ever in the area I can take you to a friend's place in Hesperia and we can shoot SB at his personal range that has resettable targets but it will be windy same as Las Vegas.

Steve, if you were to start a program it would not be hard to convince some of the shooters from CA and AZ to travel to Las Vegas and shoot with you. I have several friends that live there (Mario Rivera, Joe Brenan, etc) that would readily join you.
PJ Wright used to have great HP Silhouette matches at a range in Boulder City back in the 1980's and 1990's.

I used to run the match for three years and enjoyed shooting against Joe B. on a regular basis. I got a few PJ stocks myself.

I may start it up again, but our range was setup in yards with "questionably operational" auto-rest targets. There is alot of work to bring it up to speed for meters (politics).

If you get a regular match going down in Vegas, I'll be sure to head down for one or two of them each year. I'll bring the wife down for the weekend and she can do something else (she's a tap/ballet dancer, so lots of shows for her to take in) while I'm at the match. Las Vegas would be a wonderful place for a bigger match eventually, too.
