Post by Evelio Mc Donald »

For the Standard Rifle Match on Sat. we had 43 shooters, the conditions were real good with some light wind at times, towards the end of match 2 at about 2:30pm we had some dark clouds coming in and the wind started to pick up, but luck stayed with us, and we were able to complete the match and the awards ceremony before the storm blew by.

TEXAS STATE " TOP GUN " Elisabeth Steiger 138/160
As you can see by the results this was a very close match decided by 1 hit in all four matches, with several shoot offs between the 3 top contenders, the whole match was pretty much undecided up to the last shot.
Congratulations to Elisabeth Steiger, and by the way in case some of you don't know, she is only 15 years old ( I can see another Cathy W. growing up ).
The match went pretty smooth, with only one alibi for a trigger malfunction, and one other alibi due to a range officer ( ME ) calling a cease fire with 22 seconds to go. Besides that, not a single protest or any other problem.
I hope everybody had a good time, and I want to thank Brownell's. Lilja barrels, Lapua, AR Shaw Barrels, Robertson Composite Stocks, Mark Gregory, and Paul Freeman for their donations for door prices. Also Mark Selby, David Hailes, and Mark Pharr for getting the Austin Rifle Club 22 Range ready to host our match.
Finally thanks a lot to Debbie Mc Donald for the staff work, which was ready right on time after each match with no delay, and no mistakes, and mainly the target setters, which did a hell of a job.
Thank you all, and congratulations to all winners.
Evelio.

McAlice, from what I saw the only thing worth taking pictures of was the EMT that came to get Cliff Landry on Saturday night after Bubba and his brother Bubba did the first responders thing. The rest of the guys were all trying to figure out how to fake heart attacks so that she would come back.

Crazy Cuban, well run match and thanks for the barrel...now for decision time.

( Innocent ) Mary, ( I don't really know where the Innocent fits you ) but Cliff is just fine, hell he cut the grass in his yard today, I think his alleged heart attack was no more than a reaction to some of El Puma Tequila and on top of that a bunch of " Innocent " Vodka . From past experience I woud say that about 2 am when the alledge attack took place, his body was just getting rid of the poison. You guys need to quit tempting Tee-toddlers old men.
I hope you all had a good time.

Now Crazy Cuban...I remain Innocent of talking Cliff into anything other allowing him top try some of the fine Polish potato juice...which I might add he has had at every match he and I have shot at for years. But then it is usually limited to one and only one. I had nothing to do with providing him any Patron Anjeo, other than maybe going to the liquor store on Friday night with El Puma, but it was his money and wisdon that bought the tokillya. Now we all the Russians/Polish and Mexicans don't get along too well.

McAlice, it is a barrel of my choice, and I have to decide the action I want to put it together with. Will be trying several different calibers I'm sure before I decide.

Now wait a minute you two....first off Cliff has had potato juice before, at many different matches ( although I must admit not more than two), but then this bottle of potato juice was provdied by none other than Pharr, and it was of the finer Polish variety.

The cactus juice was of a high quality, and the two were not mixed together. I am sure that no one sat on Cliff and poured it down his throat...so here again, I claim my complete innocence in the entire operation, and i might add that I drank one of each myself and remember the entire weekend without any problems.
