STOP THE INSANITY
Recently a friend sent me a link to Gunbroker where an 8lb. jug of Varget sold for $680.00. ( NO BS ) I then surfed their reloading section and saw several 8 lb jugs with bids of $400 or more. Primers are just as bad. I hope no one on here is nuts enough to pay that kind of money for components. I realize things are scarce, but if people buy at these inflated prices it amounts to no less than extortion.
Pass the word far and wide to not buy from these robbers, and when the are stuck with excess inventory they will have to sell at reasonable prices. Even better yet they will stop buying at our local stores to try and resell at a higher rate. This insanity has to stop soon as the lack of supplies is going to hurt the sport we all love. Al

Al....I posted about this very thing last Wed. I put it in HP, should have been in Clubhouse I guess. See... "What the".....? title.
I agree with you. Makes you wonder what kind of clown would be willing to spend 85 bucks a pound for Varget, then pay for shipping it, too.

Hopefully, this will help restore some sanity:

It doesn't affect me personally, but it may signal that the anti-gun nuts won't have things their way.

Re: STOP THE INSANITY
The insanity will continue as long as idiots continue to pay the prices. Just yesterday on another board I saw a person bragging about having found some primers at $38.00 a brick!!
Loaded ammo is flying off the shelves at over $1.00 a round. GI surplus .223 brass at $100 per thousand. Bricks of Walmart el cheapo .22 rimfire at the gunshow for triple the price and folks standing in line to buy it.
Look in the mirror and you will see the cause of the insanity. If everyone would get togather and refuse to buy ANYTHING gun-related until the prices return to normal, the whole thing would be over in 60 days.

I'm a bastard on the other end, just waiting for these folks to realize they've overspent and need to dump some of the stuff they bought in a panic. Sure, I'll pay fair market, but they'll still lose money and think I'm the SOB.

Re: STOP THE INSANITY
Maybe this madness is coming to an end. I have been monitoring the VArget auctions on Gunbroker, and the high price sales have all but dried up. A dealer in Pa. had an 8 pounder listed to start at $179.00 and no one bid on it. I hope this is a start of us getting back to normal buying practices. Let's work on 22 ammo next. Al

I would rather find a boatload of Federal large and small rifle match primers.
