cwdgun,

If you would:

What mods did he make in order to get the 5022 trigger group to fit your 1710?

Did he remove the trigger safety?

What was the cost of the trigger unit and what was the total cost of conversion?

Do you have a pic of the finished conversion?

Thx much

5418 Trigger

Post by cwdgun »

Nomad, To ansewer your question, It was 300 for the trigger, 100 to do the conversion and 100 to bed the gun. The safty is removed from the 5418 trigger and the bolt saftey is used. One thing i will tell you that it takes alot of work to get use to the trigger. I found that my scores went down and have just now started to come back up. It takes practice, practice and more practice to make this thing work. Is it going to help you do better at first, My 2 cents is no way. I was a high AA to low AAA, did n ot help till I started shooting 2 to 3 days a week to get use to this setup. Hope this helps. :( :?:

cwdgun,

That's pretty interesting. I'd really be curious about how/if he modded the catch link and how much machining he did to the action. For $100 that's pretty heavy work. For that matter, just buying a 5022 trigger group for $300 is pretty good in today's cost structure.

Have you done any comparative bench work since the changeover? Any difference in grouping?

May I ask who did the work?

Thx again...
