Best stock trigger on an affordable bolt gun?

I'm just curious. If I wanted to upgrade from my 452, but cannot afford an Anschutz, is there a rifle that has a very nice out of the box trigger that is worth a look?

The new Remington? Savage Accutrigger models? Ruger 77/22?

Let's say up to $700. Thanks for your input.

Weatherby XXII. Over $700, but worth the stretch because you get an Anschutz 64 action and barrel in a Weatherby stock.

Put a Timney in your 452, or one of the other trigger kits for around $100 and your good till you can afford a 1712, new or used.

That was evil Bob - encoraging him to sip the Kool-Aid with the rest of us! yes, I thought of that, and a Timney with a case of ammunition would leave $200 towards a 1712 so it is a good deal.

I just got a weatherby. The only regret I have is that I waited so long to get one! I would recommend it as a step up from a 452, unless you have deep pockets like the Anschutz owners around here.

Put a Timney in your 452 from Chicken George and wait until you can afford a 1712. I've been using a 452/Timney combo in my CZ452 all winter for NY Sporterifle and have increased my average 8 points from last year.
I have Jewel triggers in my Silhouette guns and you can't feel the difference if they are adjusted properly.

Timney triggers are amazing. I have one on my Stiller, and know Jewell's are probably better but just don't see how!

I've already got the CZ. It's with Timney here in Phoenix right now for the install.

I think I'll do with this for a while, then either make the jump to the Weatherby or the 1712.

The jury is still out on this plastic stock on my Style model (same as the Silhouette stock). Feels a bit light. The Weatherby wood looks better suited for silhouette, but I'm just a B class shooter.

B class shooters are the most important shooters in this sport. They represent those just starting out and learning the fine art of humiliation, that this discipline teaches. Your rig of a 452 with a new or smoothed trigger will get you a long ways down the road to higher classes. Many shooters are of the impression that buying an Annie will automatically put them in a higher class...this sport is not one you can buy your way into.
That last step from AAA to the Master is at least 95% mental, and I find that I am not alone in feeling that there is the masters and then there are the professionals, but they are grouped together.
I have found that knowing the firearm and what ammo it likes, having a mechanically sound scope with glass that suits your eyes far outweighs the bling when it comes to accuracy. But then the bling can be the fun and humorous side of the sport.

The CZ 453 Varmint is an excellent affordable silhouette gun. The trigger's much better than a 452 no matter what you do to it. And it has all the adjustments anyone could want, something the 452 doesn't, no matter what you do to it. And, yes, that includes 452 aftermarket triggers, not just cheap trigger kits. In fact, you might be able to get yourself a 453 Varmint for less than a 452 + aftermarket trigger, or at least for a similar amount. But that 453 will give you better results. You can dial in pre-travel right where you want it. You can dial in post-travel right where you want it. You can dial in pull weight right where you want it. You can't do all of that with a 452. Plus, the 453 Varmint is a better design than the 452 Varmint. When you can spend Anschutz 1712 money, get an Anschutz 1712. But as far as I'm concerned, the next step down is the CZ 453 Varmint. The Anschutz 64 action is just too big of a step down, even below the CZ in some respects.

I`ll throw my in my .02. My Toz 78 has a fully adjustable trigger and the rifle goes for $150 if you can find one. I think the trigger is worth more than the rifle.
