Mike,
I am and have been a life member for several years so make sure you include the decision makers here....Women :D

While you guys worry about the likes of Rev. JJ and AS, I can't help but wonder why there is not more bought out to prove how much mis-information Oprah is broadcasting to those with nothing better to do then sit around figuring out ways to milk the almighty government tit.

On my soap box this morning.

Anyway GOA is and has been a strong voice and does nothing but legislative work. Great organization for our gun rights.

Honeybell Tangelos are in right now (a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit), and Jerry Tureau can attest to the quality, he only ate at least 6 a day...not to mention the ones juiced for the vodka.

Must be real cold up there for you to notice that BB.

Mary, I was at a conference in Florida a few years ago and they provided fresh oranges - those are absolutely nothing like the crap I'm used to and they were unbelievable. I usually avoid oranges because the acid does me in, but these things were more like candy.

Bob,
A shameless plug for Indian River citrus.

Cushman's has free shipping on the HoneyBell tangelo's through Jan31st
1-866-842-4099

My two local shippers are:

www.awcrisafulligroves.com

www.juicycitrus.com (Polichicco Groves)

Next in line for good quality fruit will be the Pineapple and Hamlin (Feb, Mar, early April) oranges, followed by Valencias, more of a juice orange(April, May). Grapefruit will be in season through April, pinks tend to be sweeter than the whites in the Indian River varieties. Ruby Reds do not have the flavor that the pinks and whites do but are still better than most citrus out of California, which is what most of the US market sees.

They still have citrus in California?! Hell, I grew up there and I recall the last ones being ripped up in Orange County in the 80s. Must be NAFTA citrus brought in from Mexico and relabeled.
