MOA measurements

Post by Koldkut »

I'm trying to put minute grids on the targets and I don't have a good conversion. I do know that a minute is 1.0472 @ 100 yards, but I can't find that in meters. I've tried conversion sites and I have been fooling with the calculator. anyone have that measurement of a minute at 100 meters?

Given that 1 meter equals 1.09 yards, by multiplying 1.09 x 1.0472 we arrive at 1.14 inches or 29 mm.

I hpoe this helps.

did some more math. Thanks AZ Jake, I'm trying to get these numbers for a MOA grid to put on different targets are different ranges in CAD.

100 yards = 1.0472" MOA
1 yard = 0.010472" MOA
1 meter = 1.094 yard
1 yard = 0.9144 meter

took the 1 yard MOA measurement of 0.010472" and multiplied that by the 1 meter = 1.094 yards ( 0.010472 x 1.094) and got 0.011456368" per meter and that times 100 meters is 1.1456368" MOA.

anyone? does this look correct?

That's a lot of math to do something simple since you gave the measurement for 1 MOA at 100yds in the original post. The relationship between yards and meters is the same whether it's 1 or 100, so just multiply the 1 MOA size at 100yds (1.0472") by the ratio of yards to meters (1.094) and get your answer (1.146"). You can only get four significant digits there since that's all you started with in your meters to yards ratio, but I can't imagine that you need to be more precise than 1.146" per MOA at 100 meters. :)

now that you mention it, that was much easier. I'm just being stupid lately I guess.
