First of all, that's illegal since you guys aren't allowed that close together in this area. Second, he's a Yankee and wouldn't last the first night, so problem solved.

Now BB,
I would be willing to put the three of you in the same motel room for a night and bet as to which of you would survive the first night. :)

One thing for sure, BB would never utter the words Remington and 504 again :-)

Bob,
There is nothing wrong with a fine Remington, at least not in the 700 or 541 actions. Besides all the reviews in magazines gave glowing reports on the 504's. But then being the rebel that I am, I never have been one for believing all that I read or see on the screen, hey I've even shot in Roswell after having grown up at the place where all the moon rockets were launched.

You're right Mary the 700 and 541's are great.... but the 504 was a typical bean counter rifle that will never live up the the 700 or 541 reputation.

We have to keep reminding BB with all the money and time he spent on that 504 door stop he could have had a good rifle and been enjoying himself more. His ban on John and I living in the same state or within 500 miles of each other only complicates this as both John and I are commited to helping him cross over

Bob,
You have to go with the flow on his ban, man. Remember he works in the acadamia field...I am on strike today, my "supervisor" hasn't shown up yet and there are at the very least five procedures that are supposed to be done today. But then I am not being paid to do his job so here I sit awating his orders.

I do not htink you will have much problem getting BB to cross over to the Dark Side, it may even come with a lillte bit of listening on the choice of actions, but I'm sure the questioning side of him will come out as well as the determination to prove the 'articles' written about fine actions correct.

You never know, Bob.

Working with the 504 has taught me a great deal about rifles in general and probably did a lot to hold my interest in Silhouette. As Mary points out, academic curiosity is part of my character. From a manufacturing perspective, fixing the 504's flaws would be a very simple thing, and Remington would have a product capable of matching the performance of the 1712 at a lower cost. Remington's mistake is not taking feedback from competitive shooters that would have helped them produce an overall better product. Even though we're a small market, we can find weaknesses in a rifle that might cripple it for everyone.

Right BB.. the problem at Remington and all large companies now is the Bean Counters and how to squeeze more for the Exec's, Vs value for the Customer. We know Remington can do it and in fact did do it, look at the 541 and 40X's still shooting and very competitive.

It's a lot more complicated than that. We've become convinced that each of us would be a Big Dog if inefficient government and corrupt unions would just get out of our way, so we've dismantled those very institutions that protected most of us. Scary, isn't it? Like our founders knew, balance of power is the closest we can come to safety.
