I'm sure everyone's got many stories of "excellent shots" coming to try silhouette, scoring low, and never returning. It can be a very humbling experience finding out how hard it actually is to shoot silhouette, especially for guys that think they're a great shot and the game is going to be easy. But, the key is to come back next time. No matter what your scores are to begin with, they'll get better as you shoot it more and more. You'll improve various parts of your technique, etc, and you'll begin scoring better and better, and start bringing home hardware to mark your progress. Great fun! But you gotta come back no matter how you did, or think you did!

Sometimes it can go the other way
My first score in SB was 27/60. My next scores were (in order) 26,25,24,23,23,23, and then I finally turned it around and started back up, and my most recent score was 38. It took almost a year before I equalled my very first score.
Doing worse every time drove me crazy, but I was hooked after that first match.
I agree, we have a great group of supportive shooters, and we need to get more young folks in the game.
