The freezer is full again
What a difference a week makes. Last weekend did not see an elk, this weekend they were all over. Been snowing all week at our spot, this finally got them moving down to easier feeding. 15 inches of snow forced me to chain up the truck to get in. A group of 12 animals came within "striking distance" (250 yds) at 2pm Sat. walking across a sage flat. We were sitting behind a scrub oak and got on them. Sara fired first hitting one in the neck. All hell broke loose and I managed to put a 180 gr. Sierra BT thru the lungs of another. 2 shots,2 kills. Sara's was a large cow, mine was average. Next time your in the Denver area stop in for a medium rare elk steak.

The second most effective bribe for me is food, in particular meat. LOL the best bribe only my wife can use. BOB I think that your new offer may cause me great desire to make the trip. Looks like work may settle down the next couple months so I may have to take you up on it.
I take it you guys didnt shoot yesterday??
