Need help on Winchester 1873 (Miroku)

Post by ter »

I have a 24 inch 357 Miroku that I installed a Marbles tang sight. I was reading the forum, and it seems that this is not the best choice for adjustments.
So I was thinking of a midrange sight like this one below..

Is this a good option? Is there any other recommendations that don't break the bank?

Nothing wrong with that choice. The Pedersoli sights are even a little easier to see the scale on than some of the more expensive options. In the past I have used a sander or Dremel tool to radius some sharp corners that snagged me or gun cases.

The Vernier sight from Dixie looks pretty good. I switched my silhouette guns over to MVA Vernier sights from Marbles for a couple of reasons. Very tight , repeatable lockup and no clicks to count. Yup, range officer "shooters to the line" , me "did I change to my turkey setting?" Now I can see where I am set.

I shoot at Seitzland, Ridgway and Atglen. My guess is that we know each other.
I am the guy that shoots black powder in my 1873 , 44-40.
In the days of old when men were bold, and a quarter was still worth a dime.
