Howa 1500 as a base for a Hunter gun?
I was curious if what you all thought of a Howa as a base for a hunter gun?
I may have a line on a 308, and I'm thinking in the future it could get a .260 or 6.5X47 tube and maybe a Pharr stock.
I hear they have good tunable triggers, are accurate out of the box, take 700 scope mounts (I know the short action holes don't line up, but Talley LW's would be what I use prolly).
Any pro's/con's I'm not looking at?

Usually shooting scores right in class, too bad its the class below my classification!

Howa 1500
They are a fine action with a flat bottom and intrigal recoil lug.
The barrel threads are metric, 1.5 mm pitch. Also the factiory barrels are screwed in very tight, about one in ten I have to cut a relief groove at the face of the action to get them off. Good luck!
