Re: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR NRA SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS
IHMSA,is correct about skewed competitors survey.
Your not asking those who are not there.
Until the silhouette committee is nominated per discipline and voted on by the competitors it has no power.
Some who have had the job and highly respected have disappeared or left in frustration.

Re: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR NRA SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Unlike a previous "survey" that was supposedly independent but was actually put up by certain people with an agenda perhaps?
The competitors survey is a blank piece of paper with no "loaded" questions as was the case in the "survey" I refer to above.
It is blank, you can write whatever you like on it. The year that the "survey" and talk of rotation was being bandied about, 170 competitors wrote very clearly, "Do not move this shoot" and various other comments to that effect.
The point of the matter is that the Lever gun and BPCR have always been at Raton. If there is such a groundswell of support to shift them, go to them with all of this "support" and vote accordingly. Why should the wishes of those who do attend be overridden by those people who don't.

Re: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR NRA SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS
In the beginning BPCR and Leveraction were held at Raton because it had the only range capable of holding the event.
There are now other ranges capable and willing to hold some of these nationals.
It is not about the wishes of a few who don’t attend.
Its about fairness and an equal opportunity to attend. Its working really well and has been for sometime with SB and HP
Silhouette alternating years.
It makes perfect sense to those of us who have travelled and attended Raton.

Re: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR NRA SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS
I would like to see it alternate as well.
1) You are trying to win the Nationals, not the Raton 240
2) We don't have the numbers to make this game exclusively a 1 spot for the nationals. Nobody is filling up these ranges to max capacity where people have to be turned away. The more people are exposed to it the better.
3) There are people on the east coast who won't travel to Raton, and people in the west who won't travel to Ridgeway; that will never not happen. Move on.
4) There are people and clubs that want to host the nationals, that is a good thing. They should be given the opportunity. The more inclusion here the better.
The NRA being what it is, they will muck it up due to lack of support. The NRA in their wisdom held the Phoenix nationals here in the summer, of course it failed.
5) Some people have a vested interest money wise to keep it at Raton. Ridgeway people also have a financial interest to bring it there. And it's not a small amount of money.

I would like to add that the Whittington Center isn't owned by the NRA nor is it an exclusively "Silhouette" club like Ridgway is where 90% of its members are also silhouette shooters.
Its a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milk bone underwear.

Re: UPDATED SCHEDULE FOR NRA SILHOUETTE CHAMPIONSHIPS
My opinion doesn't matter any more or less than everyone commenting on this thread, and for the record, I am not consulted on where to hold the National Championships. But I do think it is time for Lever Action to be held on alternating years at other venues other than the Whittington Center. That is a decision made way above my head, by the competitions division of the NRA, and not the silhouette committee, as many seem to believe.
For what it's worth.
And, once again, my post has been hijacked. Wouldn't expect anything different on this forum.

I propose that we petition to change the name of this website from SteelChickens to FloggingDeadHorses. A much more precise label for this place.

For whatever it's worth, I stood up a page a while back combining the emojis from all of the forums I post on so I wouldn't find myself looking for one that one forum has and the other doesn't. Just right click whichever you like, copy the image location, and then paste that link in between the brackets like you would an posting a picture (it's the same thing).
