Do I understand this correctly...????

Let me get this straight....
We're going to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose head says he doesn't
understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it,
signed by a president that also hasn't read it and who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes,
overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and
financed by a country that's nearly broke.
What could possibly go wrong?

Speaking of Teddy.....
I thought I'd share it because you won't be seeing this via any Boston news media.
During 2004 Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy personally championed and pushed through (including making personal phone calls on the weekend) a bill that would dis-allow the Governor of Massachusetts from appointing an interim senator in the event of a current senator dropping out of office, as the law had stood.
The reason for this very important change in the law was that Senator John Kerry was running for President. In the event that he should become elected, the then Republican Governor Mitt Romney could choose Kerry's interim replacement. Of course, this would have been terribly unfair and that unjust law had to be changed!
Senator Ted Kennedy's health is apparently deteriorating rapidly and he will be leaving the Senate soon.
Guess who is now pushing to have his own law over-turned so that Democrat Governor Patrick will be allowed to replace Senator Kennedy with one of his own choosing!
Kennedy Urges Mass. Leaders to Fill His Senate Seat Quickly

(Newser Summary) – In a letter indirectly invoking his own terminal illness and the current health care debate, Ted Kennedy has urged Massachusetts leaders to take special measures to make sure the state won't lack a Senate vote when his seat becomes vacant, the Boston Globe reports. Kennedy called for the governor to be given authority to appoint someone to fill the spot until an election can be held to chose a successor.
Improving health care for all has been a lifelong leading cause for Kennedy, who is battling brain cancer, and the fate of President Obama's health care reform may hinge on one or two Senate votes. Under current law, there could be a gap of up to five months between the seat becoming vacant and a new senator taking office.
