Why does it see it seem like like many high end silhouette stocks look like a bad acid trip? Is there a "Patient Zero" to blame like AIDS?

I understand the need for the light weight and form for the Frankenhunters, and that the standard Anschutz 54.18 slab can be limiting. But why all the Jackson Pollock wanna-be's?
