Southern National Help

I went to the AR15.com site and read the great things that Mike posted about the Southern Nationals. Toward the end of the thread, I think that Marvin said some great things about us. I would like to set the record straight on a couple of things regarding the post and hope that Marvin or Mike will make sure that the figures are correct and not over-stated.

First, the Louisiana Department of Tourism does grant us $25,000 per year to host this match. This pays for the food, printing and postage of the program and the thank you gifts to our sponsors and many other things. If you wish to view our grant proposal, you can go to the Louisiana Legislature site and view the Cooperative Endeavor Agreements.

This match brings in over 275 guests to our small community. Franklin Parish has less than 30,000 inhabitants. This week brings in over $125,000 in expenditure to our area. This is why the state supports this match and tourism in our area. Our area businesses and community leaders realize what this means to our area. That is why you will be greeted as long, lost friends when you attend our match. The merchants support our match with many great door prizes. Our National Sponsors donate over $50,000 in product for our awards and door prizes.

We appreciate all of the support from the local and national sponsors and the continued record attendance of the shooters. Winnsboro Gun Club will continue to host this event as long as the shooters want to come to our great state and have a great time. We are primarily about the shooters and their guests having a great time and the shooting is secondary; however, we will continue to improve our match and the range to make this the premier event in the country if not the world.

I would appreciate someone that is a poster on the www.ar15.com site going to the post by Mike and correcting some information. You will see that it is a great thread with many great things said about Winnsboro Gun Club. It is evident by the pictures that our Sheriff and other officials are definitely pro-gun and support us in all endeavors.

Sincerely,
David G. McLemore

David,

Which forum on AR15.com has the post you refer to? There are over 32,000,000 post to there forums. Could not find the one about Winnsboro.

Thanks,

Paul Freeman

Look in the AR-15.com Washington Home Town Forums. Look up the thread " Report from the So. Nationals".

Thanks guys. I do not go to the Ar-15 site as I do not own one and have no desire to own one. I will settle for my Ingram Mac-10 with suppressor.

Sgt. O'Ducky...You know me, I always bend the real truth by 1/2...Sorry if I mispoke about the best match of the year that we all's got...

Up here, shit...so very few shooters, perhaps 30, but most of them can really lay 'em over pretty good...

Problem is, it's like the red states vs. the blue states...The blue's rule up in here because they live in the very densly populated areas of four of our counties. They rule the polls on election day...

Just no way around it...

Marv,

WE are just lucky to have great support nationally, state-wide and locally. This is the biggest event in Winnsboro each year and we get zero fucking coverage in the local paper!

R U Kidding me ?...this would make our totally left wing propaganda papers in a heartbeat....

the sig line would be...."236 insurgents armed with high caliber .22 rifles have taken over a town in rural northern Washington" All of the merchants for fifty miles around are hiding under their beds, for fear of death from these terrorists, while counting their muny !

That would be 236 snipers with high power scopes and scores of ammo in their shooting vests. Some were armed with semi automatic assault rifles capables of shooting mutiple rounds per minute.

Shooters will assemble in a firing squad like position and the staccato of gunfire can be heard after somebody gives out the "FIRE" command and it will only stop when a Ceasefire is called.
