I just hope Hillary and Obama beat each other down so far that the winner doesn't have enough left to beat McCain. The Dems pretty much had the election handed to them this year and are still somehow trying their best to throw it away. Let's hope they do. I don't agree with a lot of what comes out of McCain's mouth and he's got the charisma of wet cardboard, but he'd be a damn sight better than either of the other two choices.

This is very heavy stuff Bob, and I really respect what you have to say.

But I do not want your ex Arkansas governor / president anywhere around the white house ever again...

White Water, the other financial improprieties that mysteriously just went away, Vince Foster, several other aides who just convienently went away, Monica, Bosnia, failure to catch the real bad guy in Sudan when we had the chance, just taints my view on what the Dems have to offer.

Marv you are again spot on! I am not sure, but it seems that Bob is a Hitlary guy! That being said, I do not want the Huckaby asshole either as we certainly do not need an evangelical Christian as the leader of the free world! It is a shame that we cannot get past a bunch of bullshit and elect Romney who has the business credentials to get us on the right track!

Marv, for a moment there I wasn't sure which former Arkansas Governor you were referring to! Either way, we appreciate y'all taking them off our hands.

Senator Clinton, whether I like her or not, is too divisive to lead effectively, but that's moot since she won't get the nomination.

At the risk of sounding like Lou Dobbs, one of the problems I see is destruction of the American middle class. Most of us are in that category, but have somehow been routinely persuaded to vote against our best interest for several election cycles now, and we're becoming an endangered species. I suppose we wanted "Business Friendly" to mean small sole-proprieterships but it really meant Wal-Mart. "National Healthcare" was vilified as socialized medicine when it would have also helped established American industries compete by getting retiree health care off their books, not to mention small companies by helping them compete for employees.

Don't count her out yet. She's still got a lot of tearing down the Democratic party to do before she gives up. :)

Blaubear - I think your right that we have been persuaded to vote against our best interests but we do it with the wrong people. The president is only capable of so much yet we act as though that one position can fix everything. The problem we have as I see it is the re-election of senators and reps time after time when they have failed as a whole. It seems the people in their states are always made to believe it was the other states politicians that kept them from getting real changes made. But they all bring home the pork so they look good on the state level. Then when it is election time they say they need to be re-elected to continue on with their work and they get re-elected over and over and over and over again.

The people need to realize their Honorable Politician (insert name here) is just a smuck in a suit thats screwing us all royally as a country with the collective ambitions of the other professional politicians. We could change presidents every year but until we tsunami flush the current sewage in the Congress out nothing will change. They will just play off one another as Americans seem to have really short memories.

I used to blame older people for getting us into this shit by voting for the same politicians but I can see how they have been mislead over time and how really when you get in the booth if your only choices are a shit samwich or white or a shit samwich on rye your still going to get a shit samwich.

Romney was my first choice. As said, he has the business experience and the stones to get things done. I think his religion was a big factor with a lot of voters. Mc Cain is going to get my vote, not because I think he is full of great ideas but I can live with better than 50% of them. O Bama scares the crap out of me. I wouldn't trust him in my house. How the hell he became a candidate tells volumes of the mess we have got ourselves into. A man that will not salute the flag, calls his grandmother a "typical whitey" and will not take the oath of office on the bible can kiss my ass. Political correctness is dumbing down our society and attempts to make anyone with a set of balls look like an abberation. Lets get McCain in, end earmarks, drill for our own oil, don't try to "talk" with some asshole who is trying to kill us and stop kissing the worlds ass so they "will like us". After the publicity around the FLDS compounds, Romney wouldn't have a chance.

My opinion on trusting Senator Obama is already posted, but let's set some of this right first. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslim.asp

He did refer to his grandmother as a "typical white person", but I can't find any record of him using "whitey".

Business has globalized and we don't get a vote on that one - it's part of the adaptability thing the next president needs. Consider the German rifle, English ammunition and Canadian stock so many of us use and tell me we can go it alone. Screw oil - we need to get off that tit and invent an alternative that will put us back in the lead and let the Middle East get back to whatever they were doing before dinosaur juice mattered.

"whitey" "white person" excuse me, you get the point, lets not step on pissants . Until you come up with another tit to use..lets use our own stuff. .Never said we should go it alone. But we don't need footbaths for the taxi drivers, English immersion classes, pedifile protection programs, the UN , or trying to convince some asshole not to kill us because we have a cartoon against allah. That's about it , with an improved cylinder pattern.

Pretty much agreed.

Oil is pumped into the global market, usually by multinational corporations, in deals brokered by speculators intent on bidding the price up and, again, these folks don't give us a vote or particularly care what we think.

Folks need places to pray, and our way is for everyone to build their own - separation of church and state means everyone. So long as they're good neighbors it isn't my business. English classes have always been provided for immigrants - just makes sense to help folks adapt and integrate as quickly as possible.

Pedophile protection programs?! Haven't heard of any such thing. They're pretty universally reviled, but maybe I missed something.

Never have understood the beef with the UN. Yelling at each other is better than blowing each other up, and there is some satisfaction in seeing some of those folks have to deal with a more tolerant culture.

This is one reason I don't trust the U.N.
http://www.armscontrol.org/act/2006_09/smallarms.asp

They were and will again, if not watched, try to ban civilians worldwide from owning small arms or possessing ammunition. One world order, with the government and it's armies, police, etc. the only ones able to have them.... I don't know about you but it sounds like a dictatorship and should really scare you about what their real objective is.

Fortunately we rebuffed this once, but with the wrong elected officials we will be tested again...

Also see this, not about the UN but our friendly governments and politicians:

Great Article, Bob! Clearly a lot of countries would like an outright ban on civilian possession of small arms! Thank goodness they tried it openly at an international conference where others could stop them! There are always folks with all kinds of reasons that want to ban personal weapons and it's best to keep them in the open and talking.

Never happen! You might get agreement on the One World Order part, but then everyone will want to be The Boss.

Great Britain has been a great object lesson for us both in gun control and how to squander empire. So, can you tell me who we have that's able to learn and adapt without infringing further on our personal liberties instead of just the candidate that agrees with you on an issue?
