With all due respect to ALL reading - I read the article and believe the basis of which ...
this basis ; making a anonymous contribution to THE NRA , is probably true
But I think that the writer IS leaving OUT very important facts which they did not care to
make available to the reading public . SUCH as what was the context of that
contribution ? I think that the ARTICLE is TWISTING and playing on our emotions ...

The NRA can't make political contributions. The NRA-ILA can. I am sure they are ALL aware of that fact.

Make the laws complicated enough and we are all breaking them. Similar to the 55 mph speed limit that New Jersey hung on to for years. When EVERYBODY is going more than 55 mph, the cops can stop anyone they want. Couple this with selective prosecution - note that most of the experts the article quotes are from the opposite side of the political spectrum.

I always assumed, whether I was sending money to the PVF or the ILA, that it was going to a political purpose. But they may have a problem.

From what I understand the NRA can't use any monies collected by membership dues to stuff in some oily weasliy politicians pocket to get them to vote the way they want so the ILA was created for such a purpose. The way I see it that the politicians waste enough of my tax payer money, why would I give them more through the NRA?

Maybe because they are the NRA, but in most cases big money will only get a slap on their hand and I'm sure it's written in their contracts that the NRA will pay for any legal defense.

This tactic was inevitable, so I hope they were smart enough to keep it clean. Oh - wait - we're talking about money, politicians, and lobbyists. Disregard.
