You can make a custom rifle for either class so there really isn't a "list".

Download a rule book and look up the equipment specs. So long as a rifle meets the requirements for either class, it's good to go. To be fair, even if it doesn't meet the requirements and you just want to shoot what you have to "try" the game out most club match directors will not have a problem with that.

If you are interested in what other people are shooting they have a list of rifles used at Nationals that they include with the results .... http://compete.nra.org/documents/pdf/co ... lletin.pdf
It will give you a general idea of rifles that could be used.

Best bang for the buck is the CZ 452/455.

Oh my goodness Ter - the Annie folks will get all upset now and, well, you know what happens when that happens! I've always thought we CZ folks should just quietly win matches, with dignity.

I like the lines on the 22 lr with the heavy barrel... wish they would offer one in 22 hornet... what they offer is ugly as hell with the magazine sticking out below... I like the Anschultz stainless Hb in hornet but no longer made.

At the risk of being excommunicated from the steelchickens I prefer the Kimber HS to the Anschuz 1712 for the hunter class. The Kimber is designed for silhouette shooting, fits me better and is just as accurate as the Anschutz. The trigger doesn’t need adjusting and low and behold the safety even works. Occasionally used Kimber HS's are available on the internet.

I don't think so Mike. He didn't say the best rifle. =))

Oh well, there is my mistake. I assumed everyone knew which rifle was best.

(in all fairness - its the shooter, not the rifle that makes the score.)
