I get confused with the first-second focal plane, but I had two Premier boosted scopes like the one for sale and in both of mine, the dot got larger as you increased power.

First focal plane. The dot stays the same size as you increase power.

If the Dot stays the same size as magnification is increased then it is a second focal plane scope. Acronym "SFP". Ranging unkown distance with a SFP is usually done at only one magnification usually 10X. Other magnifications on a SFP can be used but the math is too complex for me. First Focal Plane ranging can be done at any magnification.
Easy to remember that the FFP(First Focal Plane) makes ranging unknown distance with the reticle easier=no complex thinking=not having to keep up with a range finder.
FFP is good for longer tactical distances at larger targets. SFP is good for shorter tactical distances needing pinpoint needle-threading precision. I would say less than 100 meters. But what does a old country boy like me know??
