Well, with all the talk of these great Anschutz 54 action rifles, I had to have one. Evelio is going to build me a hunter class rifle based on the Anschutz 1712 action. I can not wait.

I received the barreled action today and unfortunately it appears to have a single stage trigger, not the two stage blade trigger. I will need to send the trigger back and get the correct one.

When I get the completed rifle I will post a picture.

Where did you pick up the action?

I picked up the action from Champion's Choice and let me tell you, the customer service is fantastic. Once they heard about my issue they jumped on fixing the problem. I could not be happier with my purchase from them. The price for the action was the best around.

Also, the packaging from Anschutz stated that the trigger with the serial number shipped to me should have been a two stage trigger.

Champions Choice is fixing the issue so I have to give them Kudo's for getting right on the issue.

When the rifle is finished I will post some pictures. It will be real nice.

I did not know about the shoot. Also, with relatives coming in for Easter, there was no time. I did get in some sporting clays though with my brother in Law. The wind made it very tough.

I am going to keep my standard rifle anschutz msr 64. Can't have too many Anschutz rifles.

Here is the big question. Where do I find a Weaver t24 1/2 dot moa with 1/4 clicks in silver? It may look like I will need to purchase one of the new leapolds in 25 power with 3/8 dot. There is a two hundred dollar difference in price. Is it worth it?

Being in Canada we have no access to US firearms dealers or at least not without extreme difficulty. I purchased a 1712 barreled action from the CDN dealer 5 months ago $1200CDN approx $1000US.
Out of curiousity if you don't mind telling the world what was your cost from Champions?

Thanks for the update on the scope. I will check it out tonight.

I paid a resonable 1050.00 US for the 1712 fwt barreled action with two stage trigger. I would say your deal was very good. Changes in the Euro could be a factor in the slight difference. I saw prices closer to 1200 at other dealers. Plus, the customer service is outstanding at Champions Choice.

I was referring to the SB matches at Rio for February and March. February the rams and turkeys had to be taped to keep from toppling by the wind, and March was almost as bad.
Both matches were a good time though.

I'm still jealous.....I figured you'd keep the MSR for a standard, I sure would.

There was an older fellow at one of our matches some time back visiting from Germany. He was actually from the town where Anschutz is situated and had infact worked there for a time.

No doubt, with his weathered skin, sharp jaw line and faded nazi brands and tattoo's on his hands this man had some stories to tell. . . . anyways . . he was amazed how inexpensive his rifles were in North America. He figured they go for triple the price back home.

luck is with me this week. I received the call that the Mark Pharr stock is in. All the componets are ready for assembly by Evelio. I will mail out the barreled action on Monday.

Evelio must be a busy fella' right now! He just agreed to build one for me that's a little on the experimental side, but if anyone can make it work, he's the man!

Well I shot my first match with new rifle built by Evelio. Man, this rifle is great. I qualifed hunter (shooting hunter is the reason I wanted the rifle) AA with a 31/60. Scored my first AA score in standard with a 31 and won A in a shoot off. What a day.

My thanks goes out to everyone on this forum and especially to Evelio for his help in making me a better shooter. Evelio, you where right, the med height rings where the answer in a consistant hold.
