Does anyone have the weight of the BKL 257 Standard and Taller Mount (+.2") rings?

I never did get my BKL rings and bases that I ordered last summer. Even though they billed my credit card, they never shipped, answered the phone or returned a message!

Is BKL still in business?

I've only purchased 1 item direct from BKL in the past and had no problems, but have heard the nightmare stories enough that I'm not comfortable ordering from them again.

Who (other than BKL) has 257's in stock for quick/immediate delivery?

Called BKL at (877)-255-2001 the first week of March 2007, nice lady answered the phone on the first ring, took the order in less than 3 minutes, and the rings were delivered two days later and mounted on rifle that evening.

They are sponsoring the Sunshine Classic in Jacksonville, Florida this weekend and there will be BKL rings as door prizes.

Looks like they are still in business!

They make great stuff, and deliver beautifully if the stuff is in inventory, but anything that isn't ready will wait indefinitely. I've had an order waiting for several months for things I no longer need, but plan to leave it open out of curiosity.

They've always been very nice to deal with and I love their stuff. Lots of the best folks in this game are a little quirky, and honestly, it just helps me feel a little more at home...

Good feedback.......they make zeroing at turkeys in the middle of your adjustment range a breeze, and never leave ring marks.

I had the cap screws loosen up on a set on a 308 that got shot with hot loads all the time. Probably operator error, but I've never really trusted them since.

For BKL's in stock from good people google "airguns of arizona".......

Dakota... you seem to be getting a lot of feedback... but not the 2.6 oz answer you were looking for.... Actually they may go a shade under that... it flicks back and forth from 2.4-2.6.

I just happen to have an extra set of both lying around and weighed them tonight. The 257-A rings weigh 2.2oz, according to my scale. The 257H-A (the higher ones) weigh 2.5oz for the set.

I use nothing but the Burris Signature Zee rings, I only whish they would make them out of aluminum. I have them on all my Aitr guns, .22 and HP guns, no problems, no marks on the scope. I put a little blue locktite on the threads, when I am completely happy.
Not sure this little story is of any help, but, I took thee scope off my 54.18 with the rings still attached, sent the action to Mark Pharr to be fitted to one of his stocks, 6 months later I put the scope back on the action and it was spot on alignment.

Hi Steve, Sorry for not getting back to you before.
No problems, I have to rotate the inner rings some times to get the windage exactly right for all the distances, Max and Min, but thats what the rings are made for. I invested in a Gun smiths Kit, containing all the different sizes (thickness) of ring inserts, and that was well worth it. I now center the elevation and windage on all my scopes and spend a little time down the range setting up, i find that .22 needs 15 to 20 1/1000 off set, you can make that up in a number of ways, as the inner rings come in 7 sizes, 0, +5,-5,+10,-10,+ 20,-20. 1/1000's, all you have to do is make top and bottom = zero. so for a .22 which requires a 15 1/1000's off set, you can have one of the following:
Front ring -5 at the bottom +5 on the top, Back ring +10 on the bottom -10 on the top. Or
Front ring -10 at the bottom +10 on the top, Back ring +5 on the bottom -5 on the top. Or
