I'm looking for a smallbore position rifle to use in smallbore 4-position league that starts up in the fall. If I'm going to be dragging my daughter to it, I might as well shoot and learn how to shoot other positions too. This past season was her first season in it and we thought it was going to be mostly a junior thing. It turned out to have shooters from 13 (her) all the way up to a couple guys in their 70s.

I'm specifically looking for something like an Anschutz 1907 in a 2213 or 1918 stock, but will consider others. It might be fun to get a 54.18 for a standard class smallbore silhouette rifle and then get a position rifle stock and bloop tube for it, too. I'll be at the Iron Man in Montana in case anyone has one they want to bring so I can check it out. I'm not in a huge hurry to get one since the league doesn't start again until fall but I'd like to have it for at least a month or so before then so I can get used to shooting it.

I have a1907 in a precise stock to match my 9003 precise air rifle. Neither are for sale. A 1918 precise stock alone is near 2000 bucks without a palm rest and hand stop. So if you can get a complete rifle with palm rest, sights, and action below 3000 you should be interested. I doubt you can pick up a precise for under 2700 complete, and if you do it would be a steal, certainly given the price a desirability of the 1918 stock. The 1918 is very nice and adjustable from a kid to adult. The price is hard to swallow, but they hold value. I am/was (retiring) the coach for a big ten college team, and the Walther KK300 seems to be a better rifle for 3100 out the door with sights. Rifles are a matter of taste but the Walther line in 22 or air is very coveted by the shooters. Shooters compete for equipment allocation, and generally the Walther's get assigned first. Good for the organization because Walther's are less expensive.

Thanks, Ter. The 1907 in 1918 stock and the Walther KK rifles are the ones that I'm looking at, especially if I don't find a good deal on a used rifle. I had a line on a 1907 with adapter plate in a Walther stock, but was a bit too slow on following up.
