The dates for the Benton Gun Club 2014 Mid-South Regionals have been set. They are April 11-13, 2014. You will find all of the pertinent information in the attached program and entry forms. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Hope everyone that made it last year has saved a spot on your calendar. As in the previous two years, competitor numbers will be limited to 32 for HP and 48 for SB. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. If you haven't made this match yet, come join us. I promise you that you will have a good time.

Just so you will know, I have put in a request for sunny skies and light winds for the match weekend. Should be perfect!

If you are planning on purchasing a new 2014 NRA Silhouette Scorebook when you arrive at the range, please remember to pack your 2013 scorebook so we can verify your classifications. If we cannot verify, by rule, you will be placed in Master class.

We are not full yet, but it will not be long. I strongly suggest that you get your entries in ASAP in order to be sure you have a spot. If you were planning on registering the day you get here, you might be too late. If I think time will allow it, we may be able to add a relay, but that is something my cohorts and I will discuss and decide on next week.

The Mid-South Regional was outstanding again this year. Thank you VERY much to Greg, Hugh, Harold, Charles, Neil and all of the rest of the awesome group at Benton Gun Club for making it happen and doing a great job. Also, thanks to all the great sponsors, including Lapua's Adam Braverman, for the door prizes (including lots of .22 ammo). Cant wait for next year's match!

I concur with Dustin about the match. As usual another finely run match at a beautiful range. Thanks to all of you that put in the effort to make it happen. Had Texas not been holding their SB state on the same weekend I am betting the Midsouth Regional will be a wait listed event in the near future now that the word is out about this newest of HP & SB annual match trips. Unless they want to add a few relays Sure wish you guys were a bit closer to make long day trips and shoot with you all on that nice range.

Many thanks to you all. I hope everyone made it home safely. Without your participation there would be no reason to have this match. I hope Dee is right, and I think we will continue to grow this match to the point we fill up every year. I plan on setting the dates for the 2015 match in the near future. Hopefully that will help to reduce possible conflicts with other matches.

I will also try and post some pics of the scores soon.

Greg, Jim and I got back to Pa. tonight about 7:30. We stopped at the Sierra plant on the way to catch up with some things there. It snowed while we were in Sedelia, Mo and we had snow off and on back to Pa and it's snowing here now.
We had a great time. You guys really put on a first class match. Count on us to come back next year. Al Foust

Thanks Al. I really enjoyed the opportunity to visit with you and Jim last weekend. You guys traveled a long way to come and shoot with us, and I am glad you were able to make the trip this year. As I mentioned in another post, I plan on setting the date for next years' match in the next month or so. As soon as I have it approved by our club, I will post it here on Steelchickens. I hope you and Jim can make it again next year, and thanks again for the kind words.
