Not looking for a debate just need some help. I've been shooting both a Kimber HS and a Kimber SVT. I've reached the class of master with them(low end of the master class). My question, I need to buy a new rifle as my girfriend is getting the Kimber HS. With both my Kimbers I get consistent 1" groups at 100m (no wind) and they are made very well, they have a great action. Now that I need a new rifle should I get the Anni or stay with the Kimber. I know the 1712 is popular but I cant see it shooting any better groups, so it comes down to choice. I dont have access to a 1712 so thats why I'm asking.

I've shot a few Kimbers and quite a few 1712s. The Kimbers can usually shoot almost as well if not equal to the 1712s off the bench. The big difference is in the triggers, though. When properly adjusted (doesn't require a gunsmith), the 2-stage trigger on the 1712 blows away anything that Kimber can put out there.

Okay, how happy are you with the Kimber HS? I just got an Anschutz 1712 and like it, but retraining muscle memory has been a challenge - my trigger finger keeps forgetting it's a two stage trigger and is sometimes surprised the rifle doesn't go bang when the first stage breaks. Your scores will suffer until you acclimate.
Shoot a 1712 before committing - the Kimber HS is a great rifle, but the 1712 is better, and this sounds like a good time to move up if that's what you want.
