I want to buy another right-handed Smallbore RTS Hunter Rifle based off of the 54.18 MSR repeater action.

I know these rifles do not come up for sale very often. I prefer a rifle that Mark Pharr built 100%. No disrespect to the other builders. All the builders are good but it's just that we started out with Mark. If we had started out with another builder we would be looking for one of their builds.
Now the specifics:
(1) Color of the stock is not important but must be RTS split-finger.
(2) Rifle must be 100% functional and need nothing. This means it must feed, function, extract and eject every time with any Sk-jagd/Wolf grade ammo and up in quality. (I know Anschutz do not eject very far.)
(3) Not particular about the barrel maker.
(4) Measured length from front of grip to where Mark cut the stock for the buttpad must be 10 and 3/4 inches or longer.

I am willing to pay up to $3000 total for a Pharr Rifle that meets these specs shipped and insured to my FFL.

Hey Bobby.. With this the second try in more than a year to find a used Pharr rifle that fits your spec's, and you be willing to pay a premium price ..... why don't you just call up the Man Himself and order one ?

Marv, I frequently talk to Mark on the phone. Mark is looking for another rifle for us also. With Robertson Composite out of business and the 54.18 barreled action no longer being imported these frankenhunters with the RTS stock are scarce. I have found several of these rifles but they were all cut off so short that we would have to add a ridiculous amount of buttplate to make them long enough to shoot. There are some people making copies of the RTS stock but they just do not have the same feel as the original to anybody in my family.

Also, your machine work is riding on every silhouette rifle we own. We sure have enjoyed your products because they are made right.

Mark has been a friend of the family since he and my father were in gunsmith school together. I currently make stocks and can build you one, I do not have a mold made for the RTS split finger design but if you want that stock I can have Mark send me up a CAD file for that stock and make a mold for it. It took me a little while to get the kinks out of Marks pattern but I have no issues with them now. It depends on what you want mold in color, finish painted, or unfinished what the cost would be. Without having a mold it will take a few weeks to get the needed files from Mark and build a mold. The cost for one stock only in this pattern would have to cover some of the mold making cost but if you wanted to order multiple stock or if some other shooters are looking for this particular pattern and we can put together a group order the cost per stock would drop.

I would to share my pictures of my Pharr RT stock and experience with Sturtevant Arms /Bill’s Gun Shop in Pueblo Colorado. Well I should have known something was up when the gunhaker (not gunsmith) offered to deliver the stock at 10:30 PM on his way home from a business trip. I did quickly examine the stock before handing over the $550 for the stock, bedding, pillars and trigger guard. It looked to be alright at first glance so I closed up the gun case and went to bed. The next morning I found numerous flaws, defects and the absolutely the worst quality of work from some who calls them self a gunsmith. I called Bill on his cell phone (719) 248-6367 shortly after writing down all the flaws and defects and left a message. That was on December 15, 2013. I have left six voice messages and have not received a return call or an e-mail on how he is going to rectify the problems with stock and damages to the duracoat finish.

Bill and Joel thank you for giving me the opportunity to expose your shitty work to the steel chickens community and the rest of sporting arms community. You guys do not have enough balls to return my phone calls. Have gone to Trinidad and had them removed? Probably so. To the shooting community please let you friends know about these idiots.

Again Dave I will respond here..... If you were honest in the fact that no gunsmith was doing anything to this stock after it left our shop we never would have agreed to doing business with you in the first place under false pretenses. You sent an FFL from a dealer who was never even involved in the transaction. You requested an unfinished stock! You did not pay for a painted finished stock! You also paid a dealer price for an unfinished stock when you are not a dealer. When you ask for a stock that is unfinished...... you get an unfinished stock.

So I am glad to have you post this out to the steelchickens forum. I will answer questions from anyone about this transaction and I have no issue letting people know that when you request a stock that you say another gunsmith is going to finish and that you want an initial stock to finish from it will have exterior flaws from the molding process. Those flaws are addressed in the finish process which you did not pay for and specifically asked not to be done so that your smith could finish it.
