Colorado State HP report

We had eleven shooters participate in our state match this past Sunday. Conditions were calm but quite warm hitting 93 degrees by 2 pm. Fortunately, we had nine target setters on the job so we could stay focused on shooting and shaded from the sun. Did I mention it was real calm? Our format for the last three years is a 60 shot match with each gun. All still like it and agree that until our shooter numbers increase we will stay with it.
Again this year I had one target in each bank with the head painted florescent colors. It would be worth two dollars for a hit scored an X on the card. This is double what I paid out in the past. I watched Oneil dump a mess of pigs only to let the pink painted one trick him into hitting dirt six inches high.

Mr.Snyder kissed his turkey on the lips and spun it a perfect 90 degrees. It looked like a piece of rebar with an orange end on top. No cigar for him. And poor Mr.Bonner suffered a ram ringer two inches above the dinger. Hey...that rhymes!
His next ram had green paint on it, but some mischievous target setter, with the MD's approval, had it c-clamped down by both feet.
It got hit high back and stood. I saw one clamp vibrate loose and fall in the dirt. It was all I could do to tell Dave with a straight face he had rung another and missed out on a pay off. He ran his last five, I believe. At the end of the relay we fessed up laughing our butts off, scored the X and gave him the cash.
It was Dave himself that was going to pull that prank on Oneil during practice. That ram stood for several hits before the clamps let go. What goes around comes around. He should not have left his clamps in the bed of the truck.
All said and done I gave out $78.00 in bonus bucks. That wraps up our 2013 season. We will practice through out the winter as the weather allows. See you all at next years matches.
I rewrote and condensed the score sheet to fit in a photo.

Sounds like a great time! Congrats to you guys for some great shooting and to Dave for another championship!!
Bob, I'll make you a deal. If you and Bonner (and any of your other shooters) come down to Zwolle for our state match next month, I'll fly up to your state match next year and bring as many folks as you guys bring.
Deal??
Dustin

Thanks for posting the results Bob! Looks like you all were gifted a great day for a state match. Man, Bonner must get tired of whoop'n your asses! Somebody needs to knock him off his little perch.
Nice to see Tobin's name on the score sheet. Seems like everyone's score dropped dramatically for the Hunter match except for you and Jeff Block. What's up with that?

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Must have been the heat, fatigue and old age!
Ooops....I forgot the chapter about the Colorado State Champion of High Power Rifle Silhouette.
Way to go DAVE BONNER!!
Dustin, Dave and I talked about Zwolle in the near future, no can do right now. My vacation and funds are about spent for the year. It is on our list of must attend matches. Maybe next year.
