TENNESSEE STATE CHAMPIONSHIPMatch Date: Saturday, 31 August 2013
Practice: The range will be open for practice on Friday, 30 August 2013 from 3:00 pm. until 6:30 pm. See Special Instructions below for range access for practice.
Match Time: Practice begins Saturday, 31 August 2013 at approximately 8:00 – 8:45 am. The Standard Rifle Tournament begins at 9:00 am. The Hunter Rifle Tournament will begin at approximately 1:00 pm.
Rules: Competition is open to all shooters. Current NRA Silhouette rules will apply. Membership in the NRA is not required. Tennessee Shooting Sports Assn (TNSSA) membership is required for Tennessee residents. Out of State competitors must be members of their state association or join TNSSA to compete. TNSSA membership may be purchased at the match.
Entry Fee: Entry fee is $25 per tournament or $45 if entering both Standard and Hunter. Entry fee includes fees paid to NRA, and lunch. Range capacity is 36 competitors per tournament. Please enter early if you want a FREE souvenir shirt.
Match schedule and conditions: Each tournament will consist of one-60 round match for each gun. The course of fire is 15 shots each on chickens at 40 meters, pigs at 60 meters, turkeys at 77 meters and sheep at 100 meters. Shoot-offs for ties will be held at the completion of each tournament. Long run attempts will be fired after the completion of the day’s shooting, and presentation of the awards. Match will be fired in all weather conditions, unless lightning or severe weather is present.
Classification: NRA silhouette classification is used. Three competitors establish a class. If there are less than 3 competitors in a class they will be moved up to the next class. Unclassified competitors will compete in the highest available class unless three are present to establish an Unclassified class.
SQUADDING: All competitors will be allowed to choose their squadding prior to the beginning of the tournaments.
Awards: Tennessee State Champion must be a Tennessee resident. An award will be presented to the Open Match Winner (who will not receive a class award). An award will be given for 1st place in each class. A second award will be given if there are six competitors in a class and additional awards for each additional 3 competitors. Category awards will be given for Hi Senior, Hi Junior and Hi Lady for both tournaments.
General information: Running water and restroom facilities are available at the range. We have a soft drink machine. The firing line is covered. Bring a lawn chair. Lunch will be provided for each registered competitor and lunch may be purchased for spectators for $7 each. Lunch orders will be taken at the beginning of the match.
Special Instructions: Entry to the Chattanooga Rifle Club property gate is limited to members only. The gate will be manned from 7:30 am to 9:00 am on match day. At other times, non-member competitors MUST contact Match Director, Ed Jones prior to arriving to let him know their desire to compete in the match. They will be met at the gate and escorted to the proper venue. This may be accomplished upon arriving at the gate Friday, by cell phone after 2:30 pm until 6 pm by calling (706) 897-2306 (Ed) or (423) 240-0338 (Dale). Do not follow another member through the gate. See attached map for range location and directions.
