I am going to raise the fees for the local match that I run, and was wondering what other matches charged per 40 round match, with the shooters setting the targets.

We have been charging $6 per 40 round match, with

Our range charges $4 for members and $6 for non members. Prizes are trinkets, no $. This would put us in line with you (after you give back $4)

Old Fort Gun Club in Ft Smith AR has chaged 5 for all day (a combination of any two of three matches shot). We give away trinkets and still turn back money to the club, so the matches don't cost the club anything. We've made the decision to keep the prices where they are in order to make it as attractive to new and borderline hooked shooters as possible. Our club is a dues paying club (45 dues and 45 range maintainence assessment) per year for family memberships with about 550 family units as members. So far no need to increase fees.

At Haltom City, TX we charge $6 per gun whether 40 or 60 shot match. First time club members shoot free. Juniors $1. (We believe that juniors are important. We've discussed allowing them to shoot for free but most of us think that it's better for them to contribute 'something' to the match and so we settled on $1.)

We return about 1/3 of the entry fees by Match Winner and class winners -- except at our 'Fun' matches. There we allow anything on the line (as long as it's shooting silhouette-legal .22LR) -- rifle, pistol, irons or scopes -- and that makes it tough to choose 'winners'. We decided for that match to return the entry fee to the top score -- sorta because it's traditional -- and then return entry fees by drawing...no matter where their scores fall...to however many shooters it takes to 'give-back' 1/3 of the entries.

IOW, if you 'win' -- either by score or drawing -- the only thing that you get back is what you paid in and the club gets about 2/3 of the proceeds.

Target setters at Tacoma are paid by tips. There are two and they make between $20 - $60 each.

Our range charges $4/day for the public. The Silhouette Club charges $4/evening for a 40 round match in the indoor range. Half the fee to the range and half is ratained by the club.

Kessey should chime in her about Tulsa Red Castle. Don't remember exactly how much per gun they charge (it's very reasonable) but they pay back class winners with NRA dollars. Good for purchasing things from the NRA or paying your match fees. Kind of a neat idea.

Coast rifle and pistol (CRAP) woolmarket Mistersippi, 5 bucks per shooter 16 and older, 15 and below free, shoot as much as you want first relays are for score. No pay backs, all proceeds go to better equipment and targets.

Looks like I got in on this thread a little late. Tulsa Red Castle Gun Club has been charging 5 bucks for the first gun, and 4 for each additional gun. A dollar equals one NRA Award Point. You pay for what you shoot with either or some combination, and if you win, you're paid in award points (jokingly called "FunnyMoney"). You can use the FunnyMoney to enter the next match or when ordering stuff from the NRA... but Dawg, it don't work for singlemalt or Arkansas matches.
