going to my first high power match at atglen pa tomorrow.i just got back from range and only have access to 100yds,so that is what i am zeroed at,i have a rough idea of come ups and only have 30rnds loaded,i am just going to get my rifle certified and hopefully fine tune my setting from a bench during practice if it's allowed and see what it's all about.
as i have been shooting t/c's of a few years and know how to reload for them i purchased an encore frame and a 6.5 creedmoor 24" barrel from mgm and a luepold vxii 6-18 ao,my load is 140 a-max over 41.5gr h4350 cci br2 giving me 2700fps with a single digit sd,my spotting scope will make the trip with me and hopefully someone to look thru it
thoughts, ideas,
suggestions thanks for any input

You'll need more than 30 rounds for a match. That load is fine for rams, but is going to beat up both you and the chickens. Have fun at the match and look around at the gear that everyone else is using for helpful hints for your own.

Here is a suggestion. Bring more Ammo!!! You are going to get your numbers in no time if you are already zeroed and then you will be wishing you had more ammo to actually shoot the match or at least play around.. Bang................................. Clanggggggg That right there is some addictive mojo from the first time you drop that Ram way out there.

thanks ,i shoot imhsa pistol silhouette and was hooked my first match,i didn't but just get this rifle together until recently and finally got some load work up done,i am still not completely happy with the load and still have more work to do,around 1 moa @ 100yds is not yet acceptable to me,reloading funds are low so that puts a damper on load work up,when i can i will work up some 120gr loads as well as improve my current 140gr load
what weight bullet is used most for c p t ?

For CPT loads most people are using 107/108gr and 120/123gr bullets. The 120gr bullets are more common.
Your load of 41.6gr H4350 with the 140gr bullet is the quintessential load for the 6.5 Creedmoor. If you are going to do more load workup try coming down off that load a little bit and see if you can find a node with a little less recoil.
Have fun tomorrow!

For chickens pigs and turkeys you can't go wrong with the 95gr vmax or 100gr amax. Out of my 2 6.5-250 savage rifles the 95gr vmax seem to shoot a tad better but in a pinche either will put up 1/4 moa.
