What's the recommended contour for hunter taper while keeping as much weight out front as possible?
( I called them - we did not speak the same lingo. I believe I need to learn more about what I want, hence the question above. )

You might want to go to the gunsmithing forums on accurate shooter website. A fair amount of discussion on Lilja. Read and decide for yourself. I have a #4 contour 6.5 that shoots very well- no appreciable tuning needed- just used pretty much the same loads and components used in a Krieger on another rifle. A real disappointment if there is as bad a problem as discussed.

Lilja 53RF in 4-groove tightbore, as recommended by Evelio and installed on my 1712.

Evelio is the resource on Lilja barrels, but remember that a Lilja #5 differs from a Krieger #5 differs from a Broughton #5.

I have a Lilja 53 taper on my 54-18, installed by Evelio in 2007 I believe. It is 24" long and still makes weight with an couple of ounces to spare with a 25x Leupold in BKL rings.
I believe this was one of the first Frankenhunters that Evelio built.

Here it is with it's new decals Jessica made for it

I use Lilja 53 RF contour for most smallbore, and no. 5 or no.4 contour on center fire, depending on scope model and stock material.
Evelio.

I've often wondered what would be the best chamber for the "tite-bore" barrels. To be able to extract a live, un-fired round being the goal.

PTG makes a special reamer for the Lilja tight bore barrels, it has a build in stop, if you ream to the stop you should be able to extract a live round, it still may be hard to close the bolt on CCI or Aquila ammo. it will work great with Eley, SK or Wolf.
Evelio.

Thank you Evilio.
I've used the PTG "Lilja Match" reamer on 2 barrels mounted on a CZ and an Anschutz 54. Extraction of unfired SK Rifle Match hasn't been great.
I'll contact PTG.
Again thank you.
