The First Annual Southern Nationals Non-shooting NRA Silhouette Party is set for June 7 - 9, 2013 at Winnsboro Gun Club. As the name states, this is NOT a shooting event but a Party! The entry fee is $75/person. Everyone that attends (spouses and children) will be required to register for the Party as we are giving away the usual awards strictly as Door Prizes for attending the Party! I have received notification from CZ and Savage that we will be getting a rifle from each of them to give away as well as items from Kowa and many other of our great sponsors. We will have a evening meal on Friday night and a lunch on Saturday as well as the usual adult beverages, etc. Blue Bunny will again furnish ice cream products!

If you do wish to shoot in a match, Dustin Flint is the Match Director of the 23rd Southern National NRA Regional Air Rifle and Smallbore Rifle Match. Dustin and his committee are making the plans for the shooting matches and we will be getting out the entry forms for both the Party and the Shooting Matches soon.

As usual , we are producing a program for the match but will not be producing a printed copy due to severe budget cuts. As I understand, everyone that attends the Shooting Matches will be required to participate in the Party so that they will qualify for the meals and the awesome door prizes. Jerry and I will be under our tent and simply just relaxing with several cool beverages during the weekend. I understand that Dustin is going to keep the entry fees at a minimum for the Shooting Matches and that the combined fees for the Party and the Matches will be under $150. I am sure that we will have the usual vendors again at the events!

We will have a Gumbo Cookoff and a Rib Cookoff for Saturday night with appropriate prizes for the winning teams!

Please feel free to post your thoughts as well as your suggestions on this thread. We MUST have a total of 50 pre-paid entrants for the Party by December 31, 2012 or we WILL cancel the Party and refund the 25 pre-paid entry fees that we now have for the Party.

Actually, Bill Motl is the match director for the air rifle regional but I can update everyone on the schedule and the costs.

The Southern Nationals Air Rifle Regional will be on Friday, June 7. It will consist of three 40-shot matches. The first match will be the Sporter match followed immediately by the Target gun match then lunch followed by the the Open gun match. The cost of the Air rifle regional will be a flat $25 regardless of how many matches you shoot. The cost for juniors is $15.

Friday evening will be the traditional CoonAss shoot except this year the handicaps will be as follows: Master- 0pts, AAA- 1pt, AA- 2pts, A-3pts, B- 4, 4.5 or 5 pts (we haven't decided yet).

Saturday, June 8 will be the smallbore Standard match. It will consist of a 40-shot match in the morning and a 40-shot match in the afternoon. The smallbore Hunter match will be Sunday, June 9 with a 40-shot morning match and a 40-shot afternoon match.

The cost of the smallbore match is a flat $50 per shooter regardless of whether you shoot just standard, just hunter or both. The cost for juniors is $25.

For those people who want to get their entry fee to the party in today, what should they do? Just cut a check for $75 and mail it to you? What address?

Sorry for the delay but I have been preoccupied helping my daughter purchase a new vehicle after an illegal Alien ran a stop sign and hit her car. He had NO insurance and NO license. They did arrest him. I am sure that he ran the stop sign because he was in a hurry to go and vote for the Democratic Party candidates!

Anyway, I will have all forms for the Party and the 23rd Southern Nationals posted this week.

Jerry and I have already secured rifles as well as other typical great prizes from out sponsors to give away for the Party participants! More information will be posted soon after.

Dustin and his crew are going to host the 23rd Southern Nationals and the cost of the Party and the Air Rifle and Smallbore matches will be less than we have charged in the past. The only real change is that all the prizes are given out as door prizes and you do not have to shoot to win anything! We will have a gumbo, ribs and chili cook off contest Saturday night with prizes so get your teams together!
